Shafted pensioners/ waspi women/ farmers/ small businesses. Yay for your hero.
His popularity rating falls through the floor and the country is going back wards.

Deny what you want, Reform worries STARMER TO DEATH.
Another day and another thumping defeat for Keir Starmer. This time, it?s for one of three seats in the previously safe ward of Brockmoor and Pensnett in Dudley. Labour previously won here in July with almost 64 per cent of the vote. But, this morning, it transpires that they have now slumped to third in the West Midlands, winning just 28.9 per cent of ballots cast. The party?s candidate, Karen Jordan, finished beneath both Reform?s Richard Tasker and the Tories? Alex Dale, who won on 35.4 per cent. Talk about a three-way split.

Such is the anger of the local Labour group at the loss of this seat that one of Karen Jordan?s colleagues has now taken to social media to vent his displeasure. Councillor Steve Edwards, who is one of the three councillors in Brockmoor and Pensnett, wrote on Facebook that on the doorstep the ?overriding message? is ?anti Starmer and rightly so. https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/...election-loss/

    HO HO HO
    Tricky:
    1) I haven’t mentioned the words ‘saved money’.
    2) I haven’t suggested that Reform isn’t a ‘worry’ for Starmer, although given the size of Labour’s majority it certainly isn’t an imminent worry is it?

What I said was that in many cases the WFA money that found its way into the pockets of the comfortably/very well off could be better directed elsewhere.
What I will further add is that anyone who believes Farage/Reform offer any sort of beacon of hope is sadly misguided.

If you’re going to try and take me to task at least challenge what I’ve actually said not what you want me to have said. Until then, bye.

P.S. POI. Starmer isn’t, and never has been, my hero. Tbh he’s a bit of a disappointment but still a huge improvement on anything else we’ve had in the last decade or more.

Oh let him have his moment in the sun, AF. It’s Christmas and, to the best of my knowledge, no team has ever qualified for the CL at Christmas with over half the season still to come. Normal service will be restored.

Part of me wants to see them qualify, because it will fully test Uefas resolve around multi club ownership. The rules currently would prohibit both olympiakos and forest competing in the Champions league.

As it stands marinakis would have to choose to either relegate olympiakos or forest to the europa or assign full control over to a third party.

I suspect it would be the latter and it would be a meaningless piece of paper and the management of the club by said third party would be in name only.

That is exactly what would happen as it already is.

Nottingham Forest have announced the appointment of Lina Souloukou as the club's new CEO from 5 January 2025. As the former CEO of Roma, Souloukou has represented the Italian side and Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis' Olympiakos on the board of the European Club Association (ECA).

Edu Gaspar is widely considered to have done a good job at Arsenal since he returned to the club to help with transfers and player relations.

He’d previously been helping player relations, and solving problems, for Brazil’s national team. That added to his career as a player gave him an endless contacts lists and Arsenal have been able to use that since.

Mikel Arteta has repeatedly credited Edu for part of his own success with the Gunners and an Arsenal exit would be a surprise. However, there’s now a report from UOL in Brazil that Nottingham Forest’s owner Evangelos Marinakis wants to take him as a ‘sort of CEO’ to work as his right-hand man across his football interests.

Multi club ownership, is becoming more common.
Its also helps with bringing on new young players and also FFP

One thing, no can deny with the Arabs and folks like Marinakis, they are world wide business people, and football is now a business on that level.

X.com is littered with posts from Musk calling for a UK election, also being supportive of Tommy Robinson and of course Nigel Farage.

What's his aim, what's he planning to get out of his attempt to put Farage in No 10?
