That?s part of the model. The positive is we replace with good players and we actually get to constantly get see good players. I would say it?s a constant upper especially compared to the many years before, every club in the world bar a handful are selling clubs.

What successful players at Notts need to
remember is, they were signed & play in a team that has a style that suits them. Not what their Agents tells them how much wonga he can get for his player & himself.
For what I think, Langstaff has been a victim of this.

The wrong advice or move can ruin a player & his family life. There is a lot to be said for being happy at your work. Fcuk the money. Your health is your wealth
I've heard on the grapevine that Macca is pretty miserable at how things have worked out so far - unsurprisingly
Millwall was always the wrong club for him

This is exactly right. Whilst acknowledging that a footballer's playing career is significantly shorter than most of us in our preferred roles, it is no less important to be active and happy (until such time as they decide to retire). Of course the money matters but bad decisions leading to being marginalised and miserable can domino into other aspects of every day, and family life.

Edit - just seen the post re Macca being miserable. This is such a shame for a talented player and decent man. I hope his agent is suitable ashamed but I doubt it. How many players genuinely represent their players' (long-term) careers and well-being ahead of the immediate buck.

Millwall was the wrong club & by what you said previously the only club to really be looking, which to me, all points to being brain washed by his agent looking for a nice pay day. ML was on a new contract, had a time to wait & see if another club came along, unless Notts wanted him out for funds??

A footballers career is short for most. But the way some folk go on, you'd think they would never get a job outside football when their careers end. It's welcome to the real world when it ends.

Sunderland were monitoring him but he was a risk compared to the price it would cost and didn't fit their model of younger players developing for resale. I'd imagine his age was against him for the championship clubs, big risk for someone just in the prime years for a striker. He'd have been better off trying to get up with Notts but that isn't the big bucks way his agent wanted.

Wonder if Langstaff is the player we are waiting on for Monday? He played 3 minutes or so on Saturday...

Doesnt matter if they are replaced with equally decent players - which they have been consistently. I?ll tell you whats a constant downer - 90% of what you type on this board 😂

Which players have been sold within 18 months? Not sure anyone has? we got 2 seasons out of Macca. DC hasn?t been sold (yet) but we might not have a choice given his contract. JJ has been at the club coming up 3 years. AJ we?ve had for a year and is only a rumour based on some **** site. The only player we sold from memory who fits your sold within 18 months would be Cal Roberts, and let?s be right, he was on his way down.
Ruben wasn?t sold and we got what, 3 years from him.
    Am I missing anyone?

Maynard said something in his press conference about Ness/Macari scan results being back probably on Monday, he then got asked about new players he said we are waiting on news on one Monday too.

Reading between the lines another club might need to bring someone in before they will release whoever this player is providing we are the only club in for him.
