You somehow seem to constantly state the negative of both which confuses me as to how we could be in the play off places???
More to the point, what is your opinion... You ad others are quick to slag off people with their opinions, Lets hear what you have to say..

You don't think having these five new players we've clearly signed with a view to improving the squad and its depth, unavailable has had any negative effect on selection options, rotation potential and consequently the performance of the squad?

That makes approximately zero sense. If not less!

The former injuries have affected us more obviously. All the injuries have affected us to a greater or lesser extent. Jones and Crowley being our best two players!

I think we?ve got 5-6 excellent players, when all are fit a very good starting 11 and a decent squad.
I think the quality of football we are playing is excellent and had it not been for an horrendous run of injuries to key players, it would be a two horse race between us and Walsall.
For where we are in the league right now, with the injuries we?ve had and the quality of football we?re playing, I would say Maynard has done a very good job.
The likes of Austin, Macari, Jatta and even Martin are all clearly improving under SM.
Where I think we need to improve is putting teams to the sword when we?re so dominant. Walsall should have been over at half time, as should Doncaster away. Swindon almost felt like a training exercise it was so easy but at 2-0 you?re only a deflected goal away from the game turning on its head.
    So, what?s your opinion Durham?

What a terribly narrow way to look at it. Of course, Jones and Crowley are your headline injures and have an obvious effect on the first team. But the players you cite also impact the first team because without them, your options off the bench and for rotation are depleted.

We do not live in an age of football anymore where 11 players and one or two subs do the trick over a season.

Personally, being sixth at this moment in time will absolutely do for me. Factor in that you can barely get a fag paper between second and ninth, as long as we are continually in touching distance of having a chance of being promoted (either automatically or via the play offs) then we are in a good position.

I've been thinking about SA, and what will happen now Jodi is back.

Playing a right footer on the right has obviously suited him, and it opens up the pass behind the full back, which has yielded results.

Obviously it's better to have more options, but now JJ is back will we switch to an inverted wing back on the right again? But who on the left? Tsaroulla maybe?

Makes sense to me to keep SA on the right for now, and stick JJ/NT on the left

Tsaroulla was playing well on the left before his illness. I think with everyone fit and available our strongest pair is Jones on the right and Tsaroulla on the left.

There?s no problem with taking a bit of a ?horses for courses? approach to it, though. Jones obviously doesn?t offer much defensively in that position, so if the opposition has a very strong left winger then you can drop Austin in there and shift Jodi out to the other side for a game.

Definitely should adjust and change things up when the opposition have a big threat on the wing for that very reason.

I am not a fan of Austin I see him as a quality squad player to have but no more. Great engine and effort but not strong enough to be central and lacks a bit of quality in the final 3rd. However happy to say what we?ve all been seeing over the past 4 or 5 games he?s put in one hell of shift and been effective and one of our top performers.

Oh and although we coped with it well results wise Jatta?s period out with concussion definitely should be included in the list of absentees

Apart from Ness, the others , Edwards, Hinchey, McDonald, Grant and Cundy have all looked very average players. Some rant on about Edwards being our missing link in MF. The only decent game he has had was against lower opposition. Against better sides he has looked poor... So i dont think any of those would have increased our chances if played.
