His CV doesn't inspire me terribly either though given finances I guess there was always going to be a pretty high chance of a more left-field foreign manager being considered. Having said that, I know very little about football in the US or Switzerland-although, given the comparatively small population of the country, I've quite enjoyed watching the Swiss efforts in recent World Cups.

He may have won the Swiss Super League twice (2017 with Basel and 2023 with Young Boys) but recent stats aren't exactly glowing:

Chicago Fire 2019-21 52 games, W12 D14 L26 so 23.08% win rate and -22GD

Young Boys 2022-24 100 games, W59 D22 L19 so better win rate of 59% and a GD of +125!

Apparently terminated in March by Young Boys following a string of bad results which saw them eliminated from the UEFA Europa League, knocked out of the Swiss Cup and a reasonably impressive lead in the Swiss Super League dwindle to one point.
