What a great name! If necessary there will be plenty of scope for wisecracks around the subjects of yodelling, steep mountains to climb, cheese with lots of holes in it, Lederhosen etc. or maybe there won’t. I too was immediately reminded of Juergen Klopp.

Cant even find stats on this guy no ones heard of. Whats his win rate? How much experience does he actually have?

Wicky, a former Switzerland international, has managerial experience from spells in charge of Basel, Chicago Fire and BSC Young Boys.
    Doesnt excite me at all!

Well his CV excites me more than Corberon?s - handful of games in the third division - coach at some random clubs in Cyprus - assistant at Leeds - Huddersfield Manager - sacked at a random Greek club. That?s hardly breathtaking FFS.

    Think he looks impressive!

His CV doesn't inspire me terribly either though given finances I guess there was always going to be a pretty high chance of a more left-field foreign manager being considered. Having said that, I know very little about football in the US or Switzerland-although, given the comparatively small population of the country, I've quite enjoyed watching the Swiss efforts in recent World Cups.

He may have won the Swiss Super League twice (2017 with Basel and 2023 with Young Boys) but recent stats aren't exactly glowing:

    Chicago Fire 2019-21 52 games, W12 D14 L26 so 23.08% win rate and -22GD

    Young Boys 2022-24 100 games, W59 D22 L19 so better win rate of 59% and a GD of +125!

Apparently terminated in March by Young Boys following a string of bad results which saw them eliminated from the UEFA Europa League, knocked out of the Swiss Cup and a reasonably impressive lead in the Swiss Super League dwindle to one point.

It is a long time since I visited Wicksteed Park, late sixties when I took a party of school kids there. I understand that it has changed a great deal since those days.

I've never heard of him, but I would take him over a merry-go-round manager like Pardew/Bruce.

I think my top choice now is Eustace. I think he knows the league and he knows how to grind out results. It might not be pretty but it could be effective.

He's taking Birmingham and now Blackburn into the top 6, who have weaker squads than ours (on paper at least).

I think he'd be a safe pair of hands.
