I didnt say i had written them off, that was your way of twisting the words around. I said that they weren't good enough to mount a serious promotion bid if required. Not quite the same meaning, unless you are that daft you cant comprehend what you are reading..

There?s no problem with taking a bit of a ?horses for courses? approach to it, though. Jones obviously doesn?t offer much defensively in that position, so if the opposition has a very strong left winger then you can drop Austin in there and shift Jodi out to the other side for a game.
I am beginning to think it would be better to keep Josh Martin out there instead of Nick Tsaroulla. He seems to offer something different.

Very different players so two good options to have. Martin has put together three decent showings in a row, but I thought Tsaroulla was our best player at MK Dons. He?s way more comfortable on the left.

Whilst noone had a bad game, which is rare, there were 2 players on head and shoulders the best for me- McGoldrick with his best and most complete performance in a Notts shirt and the much maligned Austin who ran his heart out, was involved in everything and was a constant threat. Others worth a mention, Platt and Bedeau both consistent and McDonald who whilst looks a little awkward and clumsy won every battle and pushed out some excellent passes. Jatta and Abbott also worth a mention .

Is it football or football fans that are funny? Austin and Martin not up to L2 standard according to quite a few. Until they get a run in the team in recent weeks and now they're our better performers. Funny old game.

Think confidence in both have been a contributing factor. Martin has gone for poor(ish) to playing well and Austin has gone from playing well (I have always thought) to looking confident in his selection and is playing very well.

Martin hasn't played a single good game for us. He played one really, really great game at Cheltenham.
On Saturday, tied to the wing again, I had him down for a sub-par game as I mentioned at the start of the thread.

With Jarvis joining Jones, Tsaroulla, Gordon and even Bedeau, there's no reason we should ever see him at LWB again. I'm looking forward to seeing him play inside again so I hope his loan gets extended beyond January.
