To be honest I think he's a troubled man who was bullied and maybe disrespected for a lot of his childhood and adolescence and has now found an army of adoring fans on the right / far right. Every time he wants a dopamine hit he can throw them some red meat by doing something like this and chalk it off as trolling the libs.

Funnily enough his justification of some people being too eager to call others Nazis or fascists is actually true in a lot of cases, but clearly doesn't apply if you stand there sieg-heiling in front of an adoring crowd for the whole world to see. He's supposed to be the actual genius helping the very stable genius, but I am not too confident in his judgement. I'm certainly not comfortable with him speaking to foreign dictators and potentially deciding the outcome of wars, deciding the future of US government departments, deciding elections in other countries and so on.

Even if you take for granted that he has the wisdom take the right decisions in those areas, which is far from a given, then how do we know he's doing it for the right reasons and not for the likes?
I agree. He seems very insecure and a bit damaged. He definitely has an axe to grind and enjoys upsetting the establishment, but often just for the sake of it - because he can - rather than in any meaningful way. Everything's a joke, a potential meme. He's like the unpopular kid living in his parents' basement and trolling people online, but with all the power and visibility in the world.

I wish he'd just focus on the innovation side of things as he's made truly remarkable achievements there. In recent years, he's undermined all that good stuff by turning into a bizarre cartoon character of a slightly deranged and vengeful autistic guy.

There's no pollution, it's cleaner, a lower cost of production and safer than any alternative. We could have led the world if we had started it in the early 199o's when Maggie shut the pits.
Why didn't Blair do it in the 90s instead of carrying on shutting pits?

The nuclear discussion is huge in Australia at the moment. With the high possibility of the Australian Labor Party getting trounced in the election, Peter Dutton, leader of the opposition, is openly discussing nuclear power.

There is something in the Australian Constitution that prevents nuclear power being brought in, so a referendum is likely.

The irony is that that Australia is the biggest Uranium exporter in the world. It also exports a huge amount of coal - mainly to Third World nations, so we all know how environmentally sensitively that will be used.

Nuclear power is the ONLY way forward to reduce emissions - but the left have the same old excuses. Too dangerous, too expensive.

However, we are slowly learning that letting ideologists control policy creates the opposite effect to what is needed to be done.

Chris Kenny from Sky News Australia did this documentary a while back. A very interesting watch.

There is nothing in the constitution about nuclear power. The constitution was written before it was conceived of and no amendment touches on it.

There is a federal law that could easily be overturned to bring it in. No referendum is required.

Nuclear power isn't the only way forward. We've come a long way without it, the rest requires grid-scale storage, which, annoyingly, the left also refuse to talk about sensibly. Because it means huge new hydro dams...

Sky News Australia is a murdoch outlet BTW. Propaganda.

If you do a Nazi salute - and this was a Nazi salute - without meaning to, and your response is not "oh **** I did a Nazi salute and that was totally not my intention", it really suggests you were either a) doing a Nazi salute or b) doing something so close to a Nazi salute (but ****ing it up and actually doing a Nazi salute) because you knew it would get libs and lefties and nearly the entire nation of Germany horrified you did a Nazi salute to get attention.

And having an arm temporarily in a certain position as part of a completely different arm movement is not doing a Nazi salute. Doing a Nazi salute is, however, doing a Nazi salute.
