Maybe the pitch is playable & it's more health & safety issue with today's claim for owt

Shockingly late. They really do care very little about fans . Most beautiful in their way.

Similar scenario to the Alfreton v Walsall cup tie last season. Although called off slightly earlier than that was , 5 mins before kick off.
Groundstaff do their best to get the match on but those sheets aren't an effective solution in very cold spells.
Not good for travelling fans in relation to cash outlay and travelling implications.

At least Notts haven't lost more players through injuries.

Grimsby should not have put out such ambition claims and refs need to sort their bloody timetables out , need more notice

Why couldn't they have just announced yesterday that "a pitch inspection may be carried out in the morning if necessary", instead of making out that it would definitely go ahead? At least then fans wouldn't have felt so misled and angry.

Looking at the current weather (sunny & 2C now in Cleethorpes) the match may well have gone ahead at 3pm but due to the interference of bloody Sky TV wanting 12.30 kick-off’s

Purely conjecture, but wonder if Sky had not requested a 12-30pm kick-off, whether the conditions at 3pm would have allowed the game to take place. Whatever, Grimsby have treated the Notts players and supporters very poorly.

We have had so many games at silly times this year and I doubt the small payment we get from sky compensates. The EFL has sold it's members and soul down the river for a quick buck !
