Nice to enjoy a beer with a good performance and result behind us, well done lads.
The Key to me is that Evans has done what a lot of us have asked for and ditched the statues we had as centre forwards and payed mobile skilful players, Having forwards that move and run into positions gives the midfield more options and helps them be better players.
Which is what we saw today.
It was a joy to see us dominate of the second half and play the game in their half for most of it. We haven't seen that for a while.
The defence looked solid througout with just a lapse in concentration for their goal. Jules was immense and so cool on the ball.
Humphreys showed the skill and coolness we know he possesses what a class player. Powells best game for us too.
As a team we did so well even McDonald produced some good stuff today, the caveat is McWilliams who i think impersonating a footballer, he's no more than a pub player

So glad I was over in the UK and got to see the game, I thought we played very well and some outstanding individual performances. I have no idea why SE changed the formation and put Humphries in his defensive midfield position at Lincoln, but since we moved to a diamond in the middle of the park and got rid of the town statue up front we have looked a different team, and a team that knows their jobs and play for each other. So well done to SE for taking the gamble and owning the decision. Powell is an outstanding footballer, some of his close ball control is top notch, so no doubt he will run his contract down and be allowed to move on for nothing, in a few years. The two centre backs are excellent and comfortable to play the ball. Only downside for me is Phillips long boot down the middle hit the islands down the sides and take out the centre backs.
After all the stick I think Macdonald and McWilliams deserve some praise.
In Evan’s interview he talked about squad size and we have no depth now, TS has to reuse some of the money recovered from the Tiehi sale, if we do not add players, decent players this window and then have a couple of injuries, all the hard work getting us into the middle of the table could be lost. It is up to the owner and his executive management to get these deals done. If SE doesn’t get what he thinks he needs I expect if the team are winning he will start to slip comments into the interviews that have a double edge.
For now it is great to enjoy the result and performance and so glad it wasn’t cancelled.

Derbs, so glad you enjoyed today.

I have to concur but moreover about MacDonald. Some on here call him Henry VIII, shame on them.

There was something I saw in this player when I first saw him play. Small in stature but, a great low ground gravity player ala Maradona but absolutely no where near his finess. I find MacDonald a rock hard solid battler who will take the ball player and all, a Tony Grealish workhorse s.hit house one who doesn't take prisoners and what is wrong with that?

His role today was to stifle their left wing play and he did that with aplomb. These 'so called' players fans love to hate, are now delivering where they shouldn't be and that is fine by me. Evo, keep using MacDonald as you see fit.

I know it is keeping the likes of Jack Holmes out of the team but so what, it's a team thing and hopefully Jack can see this when Alex steps down.

70K won?t go very far in football ? Big Steve says we spent 30 K on the tent just to get yesterday?s match on ?
Looking at the programme, we seem to have a footballing staff of about 40 people ? That?s got to be a million pounds in wages per season ?
