Well that was more like it.
A good team performance, everyone battling, winning second balls and playing some nice football at times but we have to keep things in perspective because Charlton were quite poor and not helped by a dodgy goalkeeper.
Actually this doesn't seem to be a particularly strong division at all so, if we can avoid injuries and bring in a few new recruits to strengthen the squad, the play offs might not be out of reach.
As others have said there were several really good performances this afternoon but I thought Joe Powell was superb and is really showing his class now he has a decent combination of midfielders alongside him.
I'm still baffled why it took so long for SE to realise that Humphreys has all the attributes to play as a quality defensive midfielder because a lot of supporters had been saying it would be his best position for a long time.
Who knows where we would have been if this team had been assembled much earlier in the season.
Oh well, onwards and upwards hopefully.
