Worst game I’ve seen since West Ham.

That is how Bournemouth setup and play, there is no excuses from the coaching team that they surprised them… that’s exactly what we should have trained for.

Bournemouth were very good, clearly the better team in terms of play and cutting edge.

    Isak had very little involvement.
    Gordon was ineffective
Murphy… made a post on him generally

Defense - Tonali was probably the best defender on the pitch… enough said.

Midfield… and this is where I think we mostly lost it, but also where I think we were a little hard done by.

THAT F**KING REFEREE ATTWELL!!! Played it… as he saw fit… let the game ‘go on’… ignored multiple fouls from the start - Adams should have had a yellow from the foul on Bruno in the opening minutes, and he waved it on and on.

Adams said in an interview after the game that they planned to cause as much chaos as possible and hoped the ref would let them get away with it and he did.

Since when can a ref decide to ignore the rule book? They fouled Bruno multiple times in first and second half, the incident where a first yellow came out for Joelinton (which was a fair yellow) should have never happened as the foul on Gordon that tipped Big Joe over the edge should have had the ref blow the whistle and stop the game before Joelinton even had a chance to put a tackle in.

Overall, Bournemouth were the better team, I think they employed some dirty game plan to upset our midfield and won the game on the back of it, but Attwell was absolutely shocking and the FA need to look at his performance and drop the tw@t

    The ref was shocking.

Adams shouldn't have been on the pitch by the time he got his first yellow, if the rules were followed correctly.

Same for Christie, took about 6 attempts before he picked up a yellow.

    **** refereeing today.

Except its evident we dont got players on the bench to come on and give us options in attack. Because if we had options, they would have been used.
This is inevitable when you have a squad like ours and you start your ?best? 11. Eddie could only sub players to rest them, not to change tactically. Thank you PSR!!!

I think a big issue for us was we struggled with the physical way that Bournemouth went about the game and that the ref seemed to be happy for them to get away with it. No major controversial instances just consistent low level fouling and disruption, especially on Bruno who got kicked every time he had the ball.

However one instance I really didn't understand was the Joelinton incident. Gordon got fouled, Bournemouth got he ball with Kluivert, Joelinton agriculturally hacks Kluivert down, the ref blows up and there is some pushing and shoving primarily between Joelinton and Kluivert. This results in Joelinton and Kluivert being booked but also the guy who originally fouled Gordon. So why did the ref allow play to go on initially after the foul on Gordon, with Bournemouth in control of the ball, if he ended up deeming it a yellow card offence?

On the game as a whole, I do think that we suffered from a bit of complacency due to our recent run of results. I think it was there second goal where Bruno got robbed in the 6 position. I thought he could have stretched and made an attempt at a tackle, failing that committed a foul and stopped the attack but he just allowed him to get away. I suspect he thought that it would be alright and it would sort itself out. It didn't and we went in to half time a goal down just as we were showing some ascendancy. I suspect the result may have been different if we had gone in level. Not laying the blame solely at Bruno, I just think it was representative of our overall performance - expecting things to sort themselves out without putting that little bit extra in.
