Do you have a Bet ?

The last time I had a bet was on the morning of our great escape , I woke up that morning feeling against all the odds we can stop up .
The bookie thought I was mad .
We stopped doing the lottery years ago , but a couple times a year have the odd lucky dip .
Instead I buy premium bonds , me and my twin win almost every month and have share out with our prize money at new year .

Yes, I do like a bet but only with money that I can afford to lose. Never smoked or drunk much so this would be my main sin. Been following horse racing from a child and often walked into Folkestone races with other families at the turnstiles. Obviously couldn't bet but was fascinated by the whole atmosphere.
Later in life I was fortunate to own both horses and greyhounds. Never made a fortune but loved the whole experience.

I have an online account and occasionally have a punt, normally 2 pounds (which is the minimum stake) and virtually always football. She Who Must Be Obeyed asks me to place her bet on the Grand National?she has had some decent success with outsiders?horses with names linked to family or similar?definitely no form studied.
I have a pal who, when attending the Shrine, would put a bet on the Albion losing?his thought process being that if the Baggies won?he would leave happy?if they lost? he had some minimal compensation to offset his anger.
