My guess is still Head Coach and assistant at Wealdstone.

Yeah. Wealdstone manager has gone to Solihull today. So they'll be taking over there. Mystery over and judging by the nice leaving statement by Notts any suggestions that they've done anything wrong look very wide of the mark.

Exactly, but not really the “NCM way” to not throw out a conspiracy theory or two.

Cue the posts from the usual suspects pretending they know the inner workings and saying ridiculously vague statements. (they dont know anything they just like to appear important).

Gotta say that I didn't see this one coming

As someone advocating for Alves over them a year ago, I'm happy about this.

Bizarre they should spend an entire year here without ever giving an interview, as far as I know. Maybe they were never going to be here long.

Anyway, they did fair jobs here, wish them well in their new higher ranks at Wealdstone. The experience will have set them up even better than before, so they should be able to dodge relegation and take it from there.

The existing Wealdstone connections and the opportunity to step up will no doubt be a factor, perhaps more than the money, although it
could be that Wealdstone are investing a surprising amount in them because they're known quantities associated with the relative success of the previous era, which can be a compelling emotion if you're struggling.

I notice Boreham Wood didn't take long to abandon their new direction earlier this season and go back to 'ol faithful' Luke Garrard, so never underestimate how much a club might spend to try to revisit "the good old days".

I don't see anything in the Notts County club statement to suggest they've left under a cloud, in fact they refer to the "significant role" Matt Saunders played and Maynard personally wishes him well. I'm not saying there's no chance there's more to it, but football fans do like a drama. Not every occurrence has to have a sordid back story.
