I think the club have to stop and think what his value might be in 12 months time. If we are in league 1 and he?s still scoring then that 1 million we want now becomes 2 million easily.

He?s almost bound to have some kind of release clause in his contract. No idea what that figure would be, but for a ?150k signing I doubt it?s going to be much beyond ?1m.

I would be very very surprised if the club were taken by surprise by the interest and bid for Jatta. I would suspect and hope they have replacements churned out by the super computer for all positions which are updated regularly and periodically

One thing is for certain - if he goes it will be for an undisclosed fee.

I doubt he will now unless someone comes in with a ridiculous offer.

Im 35. I have only ever seen us play as high as L1 and we never really bothered the top end of it. Personally, I see us as a club who could bother the top end of L1.

On Jatta specifically, there is zero chance we sell without a replacement. I guarantee there is a list, probably five deep, to replace him and that list will continually be in motion too.
I've seen Notts in the top flight on two occasions and can't see me witnessing that again. My hope is to see Notts in the Championship, perennially dodging relegation, no doubt.

Arsenal are "actively looking" to sign a striker in the January transfer window who is able to "make an impact", says manager Mikel Arteta.

Surely they can afford ?1 or ?2m?

He'd still have to want to talk to them. He might want to do a full season for us before he thinks about moving on. I doubt the offer he personally would get would change much between now and the summer, even if the fee Notts could command might.

Someone on twitter spoke to his agent, apparently his agent is furious about the leak from Plymouth and AJ is more than happy to stay at Notts at least until the summer. The thing that needs to be weighed up is we could well be in the same league next year, so is it a step up.or sideways move?

IF (that big IF again!) we do squeak promotion and they get relegated I would like to think that the love would keep us together 'cos money's to tight to mention.

But this was mine, and many others, point in the summer.
Seemingly the same posters were saying the lack of ambition in the transfer market, and sticking with the BT Engineer would mean we?d never be in with a shout of promotion. All that happens when time proves them wrong is they move the goalposts to make the same point.
