There was a strange tweet a while back from the strength and conditioning coach from last year with one of them and just a clock, at the time people were thinking he was saying times up for Maynard but maybe not? Maybe I'm putting 2+2 together and making 456 but interesting to say the least

For them to walk away from the deal they had at Notts to possibly take over at Wealdstone is rather odd as they'll not be paying them anywhere near as much. It always felt like Matt was as much the head coach as Stuart and maybe he's overstepped his position. Too many cooks in the kitchen and all that.

Happy to see Joao become assistant and I'm sure Stuart will be happy with that as will the players.

Does this not make us a bit short in the coaching area now that we only have Maynard and Alves sorting training out? Hopefully we can get older players as coaches, Edwards, Pilkington, Draper etc to lend a hand.

Said weeks ago he would leave. Under a cloud. And the club would likely put out a diplomatic statement. Nuff said.

if you are itk, could you at least frame the situation? Was it player relations, other mgmt relations, overstepping bounds...

Hopefully the day to day coaching isn't affected, as that's been one of the under-appreciated highlights (within Notts fans) of this season, imo. There's no way we'd be producing the quality of football we have been - roundly agreed by other fans/coaches to be the best footballing side in the league - ok, some inconsistency (but then injuries too), but overall - if the coaching wasn't Very good.

There's no sign the coaching has suffered yet for whatever situation has led up to this. On the bright side, now the people he came with have gone, this leaves Maynard with all the responsibility/all the credit. He's looking confident.

Not really sure of the background as to why they left
But it's certainly not had an adverse effect on mood of the squad or staff
People leave organisations all the time
Sometimes the people taking over the vacant roles are an upgrade

Why did it feel like he was as much the head coach as Stuart? Never has done to me.

I only commented in the first place when one or two on here started false rumours about certain players being bad apples.

The club has decided the best way to deal with Saunders' departure is to put out a diplomatic statement. So I'm not going to undermine that by commenting further.
