I think when the club says that someone has played a "significant role", and the manager thanks them for all their help at two successive clubs, it's a bit more than a 'go through the motions' message.

Now granted, I think we have particularly classy owners who probably are more polite and liable to say nice things than others, so maybe this is just their standard departure message, but I can't help thinking fans just love creating rumours of backroom strife where none necessarily exist.

Perhaps after twenty years and many previous owners where stories of backroom fallouts probably were true, Notts fans are still struggling with withdrawal symptoms from all the drama and and have to fill the boredom and endless stability of the past five years with something!
