No they don't. I want promotion.

But I also recognise that promotion isn't built around one player, that every player has their price, and that the reason we've had Championship clubs buying/bidding for two successive strikers is because the recruitment team found these gems in the first place, so they might already have the next Langstaff or Jatta in their sights.

I don't think it's by any means certain that we'll sell Alassana, or that he would want to go, but we have to recognise and respect that the whole business model of the club is based upon identifying good value players, even if it means paying six figure sums for them, developing them, and selling them if the right bid comes in, which help keep the club sustainable. There will never be a perfect time to sell a player and fans are never happy to lose a good one, but on the occasions it happens we've got to trust the process, even if it sets progress on the field back a bit in the short-term (which it won't necessarily).

When you pan out and look at the full picture, the approach over the past five years has seen us on a slow, but steady, upward curve, despite some setbacks and dips along the way, and we've recruited a considerable number of very good players.

The approach of several previous regimes saw us sign copious amounts of expensive dead wood, whereby it was relatively rare for other clubs to even want to buy them, and despite some moments of promise, we were generally on a downward curve, which is why we ended up in non-league.

C’mon stop talking rubbish. We should keep Jatta at all costs, sell the Nest, sell the P?del courts, rip up the pitch and sell that, sell the fancy new wine glasses and padded seats in hospitality, borrow a load of money off some random investors, buy Rashford and pay him what he wants and go all in for the dizzy heights of League one and then ………

I can?’t fathom as to why some folk seemingly have got there knickers in a twist over a rumour.
In an age where misinformation is rife some on here have lapped up rumours as reality. Whether it?’s Jatta leaving, recruiting babies in nappies or the Saunders scenario over the past week, the reaction of some has been mind boggling.
Notts on the face of it are a brilliantly run club. Certainly not a selling club that some will have us believe. Their are countless rumours of star players being sold, yet the reality is that we cashed in when necessary (Macca and DC wanted to leave) and in some cases didn?’t cash in at all (Woots n Ruben).
If and for me it?’s a big IF Jatta is sold, it will be because the club got a price that is more than they think he?’s worth at this stage.
I don?’t think he?’ll be sold and recent history supports this.. Macca last Jan, Ruben the Jan before and Woots the Jan prior?… all star players, all rumoured to be sold?… none left in January.
