Of all the many (and often suspect) signings we made in the summer, this lad is by far the best. We should already be trying to extend the 2 year contract he signed. But will we? I'm not holding my breath. Ok, there are occasional lapses in his game, but he is already a better player than Rathbone, and a far better player than Lindsay. I do like watching him. The two year contract at his age was a surprise but it may be the ammount he's on that restricted it to being only two years. To offer him a longer contract will mean having to offer him more.
I hope we can find more like him.

Does anybody know if we included an option on a 3rd year within his 2 year deal? Even so,I agree with Tiger,this is the time we should be looking to extend deals,not in a years time when all is almost lost. Making the play-offs this year is a real stretch,I thought this even before that appalling display at Burton,so players like Powell are going to be key to next season along with other additions this Summer that Evans without doubt will be overseeing.
