A good question BT, but this also applies to the many other Middle Eastern countries who seemingly do not wish to accommodate the Palestinians. Is this because they do not wish to be infiltrated by Hamas and other terrorist organisations?

That's a BIG question mein freund, I think geopolitically speaking they don't want to pi$$ the Yanks off.
