Coaches today understand that the talents of todays footballers will tend to put them in a position of wealth & fame at a very young age, bringing vulnerability as well as huge rewards.

Not all younger players learn to cope with the side effects of the game that arrive at moments in their lives where it is not 'just a game' any more for them.

Charlie had his issues but obviously feels in a better place mentally now & I suspect the slower pace of lifestyle would be more suited to his well being at this stage of his career & enable him to progress footballing wise at a pace he is able to control better, H.

    Good luck to the guy.

Think Charlie?s main issues were Farke based. He was frustrated at a lack of play time and was in good company that season.

See joffy scored a cracker on his debut too.

Think Cresswell will be a pretty big loss over time.

Strujik was lucky to have broken into the lineup prior to Farke coming so he was used. Cresswell came in a little later and he was deemed "excess to needs" by the coach. I think the overall ability of both is pretty similar and I think Cresswell is more durable than Strujik. It's much easier to just go out a buy a retread than it is to give a youngster a chance to fully develop.

I always found it interesting that Cresswell was plenty good for Millwall who had a solid defense the year he played with them but not good enough to even play mop up minutes for us. Joffy was in similar position.

How bampuff keeps getting the training time and minutes when he's as old and fragile as he is defies common sense at time. He's also mentally fragile, lacks pace and misses easy sitters under pressure. Other than that he's good.

I am very concerned that if we get promoted we'll have a repeat of the signing extravaganza that orta executed. I have been impressed with some of the solid players we picked up under the 49's including Gruev, Ramananzi, Ampadu, Rodon and Bogle. However, the panic buying if we get promoted could really hurt us down the road.

No it wasn't Bielsa had to play him 2 times and kid shined both times and never played again. All the next managers he never got a look in so not just fark. Yank wanted an all American team the incoming managers were under pressure so kid never got a look in. We treated him badly as we have other kids. If gray's name wasn't that he would have been on the same boat. We are just a stupid team hell bent on bringing 34 year old's and has bean's.
