sinkov, oh yes, that was very much the game I loved too. I was also a full back who loved to overlap but accepted that my main job was to defend and stop the opposition scoring. Simple team formations, simple instructions from the manager and they really seemed to work in so many games because we scored goals and won many more games than we lost.

Modern game is really based on how much possession you can have, how many passes you can make in your own half and the hope that you can bore your opponents into submission.

Given that every man and his dog has known for ages we need a striker and we've had a month to sign one I think questions need to be asked. Like..What is the meaning of life? Is there a god and what does he do in his spare time? Will VAR be around in 10 years and if so why? and finally..What do people see in Michael McIntyre?

That has really made me chuckle Kriti.
I agree with it all, but mostly Michael McIntyre-I have never understood what he is all about!
Shame he wasn't available to do a "turn" in the era of the "Wheeltappers and Shunters Club"-Messrs Manning and Collier would have had a field day,

My pleasure DTP, if I make one person a day smile I'm happy, if I make BT smile I'm ecstatic.

Does the departure of Jay Rod (and I realise I am grasping at straws here) indicate the very slight possibility that a replacement has been lined up?

    Seems so Sir Outwood...

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Sporting Lisbon’s Marcus Edwards is the player the Clarets are in progressive talks to sign in this window.
