Seriously you have to remember like Langstaff he wouldn’t have earned much in the game so if he gets a deal on 3-4 times his salary he’d be stupid not to take it especially in this industry NOBODY is really loyal unless you are at Real Madrid.
No point earning more money when the cost of living in London will take a large chunk of it. Plenty said on here at the time of the rumours Millwall wasn't the club for him. Will he not work again after finishing his football career???

With seemingly no other clubs interested. A player can?t wait for the ?right? club to come knocking as that may never happen.
As others have said, Macca has made little money in the game so to go somewhere that can give him a much better financial deal made sense. I get your sentiment about Millwall and style but it?s telling that Williams himself didn?t invest in him for Swansea.

Yes he will work but if you are on say ?2k a week and someone says do you want ?8k a week for 3 years what do you think MOST people would say ?

Sport is also about belief and ego you have to believe you are going to make it higher up otherwise Ian Wright would have stayed in the non league.

Millwall aren’t a good side by championship standards I agree but the choice is the players and he made his choice.

Feel more animosity towards Dan as I felt his leaving was orchestrated by him

There would be other offers where he will have told the club he wasn?t interested in leaving, there?s no point of the club accepting offers where the player has no interest in leaving.

The problem with DC was MK came in for him at the start of the season. Ruffled his feathers, & the part I don't get is he admitted to keeping in touch with them after the window closed. Against FA rules

AFAIK there wasn't any other offers. He got duped by his agent, who would get a decent wedge. They really don't give 2 fcuks about their clients. He was naive in my opinion in moving there.
Wouldn't take much to know it wouldn't be a good move. Plenty of players move & become flops overnight due to not looking into the system a potential club plays. Often a manager gets sacked, new one picks them, next thing they are on the up again due to a style he is used to

I think it was MK who said they kept in touch and its not against the rules if its the agent doing the talking
But we all know that's just a device
Dan would have stayed if we'd given him what he wanted but that would probably have messed up our pay structure
It's no good dwelling on it
If he'd had 3 poor games on the trot plenty of our fans would have jumped on his back
We haven't fallen apart since he left and I suspect the team spirit is better without him
Everyone knew he wanted out so it's best if everyone is pulling in the same direction

Agree. Play far better, not looking for 1 man in a predictable pattern of play

Most of the time a club won?t do all the work in putting an offer together if they know a player won?t come, some will to try sometimes.

Yeah it?s been a bad move, their manager was lording him up as the best natural goal scorer he?d seen for a long time, it was good money but it?s gone wrong but to say you hope he rots there is a bit strong, the club were happy with the business.
