The difference between us and Mansfield is that DmG has legs all around him? Mansfield are a squad on the aging side.
It was interesting watching the Chelsea game last night and finding out that no player has made an appearance and been over 30. Football is fast becoming a younger man?s sport.
Not sure that?s true I think we?ll actually see the opposite with sports science where players go longer. I think Chelsea is more due to their financial strategy tbh.

Sports science may well assist players to play for longer BUT that will be due to managing minutes. You won?t see 34/35 year old ever presents (goalkeepers aside). Younger players will need less monitoring.
Football has changed. The amount of running and the intensity of the game has increased. It?s been on this site and I know it?s been raised at Spurs about the style of play being a factor in the injuries of players. More and more players are suffering muscular injuries rather than impact injuries.

What an athlete McGoldrick is, another year here then we can think about putting him out to graze on the ploughed field mill.

I know. It's not just his intelligence and touch that's amazing but his work rate too. The amount of running he does would be impressive for a 27 year old. He's hit another level this season.

The way McGoldrick played at Gillingham clearly illustrated both his fitness and continued desire for the game of football.
I think all this talk of ?one more season? is premature. After all, Stanley Matthew retired in 1965 at the age of 50. Sports science has moved on dramatically since then, and I am confident that McG will know when the time is right. I hope it?s still a while away.

Could part of the DmG motivation be the fact that in his mind he?s only playing for a couple of more months and his desire to get Notts back to L1?
He seems to have upped the ante in recent games and I wonder if it?s this or to prove he still has something left in his locker for another year or 2.

McGoldrick was in this form for us last season until he got clattered. He was out for a few weeks and I don?t think he looked the same for the remainder of the season.
He now looks fully fit and is covering ground like a 27 year old.
I must have had 10+ non-Notts fans mention his goal to me this week.
Love having him at the club.

Another defeat tonight for our little neighbours, they're sliding down that table quickly.
