( reality was he wasn?t the battering ram footballer at all he could play - was intelligent had great feet and brain ) but he did miss a shot at Villa that would have kept us up so he?s a failure and it?s all his fault ).

Relegation cane and he wasn?t selected for Holland unless he played at the higher level - again he was ridiculed and we loaned him out to play in Turkey and then Man Utd ( he must have been dross ) to top all that when he came back when we needed someone like that we booed him at every touch of the ball.

The Dutchman wasn?t to blame for what happened and he never lied or feigned injury - he spoke his mind whereas Tresor - is a different animal we know now.
Totally agree army, in fact, since he went on loan from us in order to give himself chance of selection for the World Cup he has been involved in a lot of football.
2022/23 he played in 58 matches and scored 13 goals.
2023/24 he played in 50 matches and scored 16 goals.
2024/25 he has played in 23 matches and scored 7 goals.

In two and a half seasons he has played in 131 matches and scored 36 goals and yet Clarets fans booed him.
He has played exactly as many games as Josh Cullen in the same period of time and they have both earned their corn.

In addition to the 36 goals scored he also had 12 assists.
In his time with the Clarets in the PL he started 17 matches and we picked up 22 points in those games although he scored only twice he also had 3 assists. He was on the bench for our final 3 matches and we picked up just 1 points from those.
17 matches and 22 points equates to 1.29 points per game. That average in the last three matches would have seen us pick up 4 points instead of 1 and we would have been equal with Leeds and they would have gone down on goal difference.
In spite of all this, Clarets fans blamed Weghorst for us being relegated.

Neither did Chris Wood at Newcastle, however, his value to the Toon was not appreciated by their fans, in spite of the fact that he was very much one of the players responsible for stopping them conceding goals.
Deemed not good enough by Burnley fans when Toon paid his release fee, not deemed good enough by Toon fans .......what a failure he is only scored 86 goals with 10 assists in 251 PL matches.

I reckon Burnley fans would have him back now, great to see his hat trick last week. He even managed to crack a half smile.

You won’t win Sub - it’s his fault because he didn’t get 20 goals and keep us up easily - I mean what use was a Dutch international footballer to us anyway ?

Hard to convince them he’s a decent footballer when it’s right before their eyes - it’s like slagging our young players of for having a go at beating a man and not delivering a perfect ball.

For those among us who actually appreciate that I’d say if players went past a man every time and delivered the perfect ball he would t be playing for Burnley he’d be at Chelsea on 250k a week.

Sometimes I think some BFC fans are not happy unless they have a bogey man. Good enough for Holland but not good enough for BFC. Something missing somewhere

You forgot to mention Sub-dare I say it-that he almost single handedly turned round a World Cup quarter final against Messi`s Argentina as a sub(pardon the pun).

It's not worth getting all sanctimonious about Weghorst. It was clear from the start he did not want to be at Burnley.

Anyone Remember when Roberts told him to "**** ***"! during the Wales v Holland game?

Bad attitude and Tresor is in the same boat.
