Yes, it has to be a very legalistic departure you'd assume, with so many IP issues.

I've long disliked Swansea. You have to think LW in sweet-talking their owners into not sacking him, has persuaded them to hire RM as well. I haven't been wishing them well, so no adjustment for me now.
A view from the other side.

I haven't actually watched this week's Magpie Circle episode and was planning to do so tonight. Don't think I'll bother now.

It's a shame, but these things happen when you have successful staff and players.

Richard Montague is leaving the club to become Director of Football at Swansea City.

Montague first arrived at Meadow Lane in 2019 alongside new owners Chris and Alex Reedtz, taking up a position on our board and leading on player recruitment.

Richard said: ?I?ve loved every second of my time at Notts and I?m incredibly grateful to Chris and Alex for giving me the opportunity to work for this fantastic club, which is only going in one direction under their ownership.

?I?ve developed a real affection for Notts in my five-and-a-half-years here and I leave with many fantastic memories, especially of our successful trip to Wembley and the celebrations that followed.

?The club is in a fantastic position to challenge for promotion this season, and to achieve further success in the future, and everyone connected with Notts has my very best wishes.?

Chris and Alex added: ?We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Richard over the last 14 years and we?re hugely grateful for everything he?s done in that time, which includes helping us establish our recruitment strategy at Notts.

?Not only is Richard a fully-dedicated professional, he?s also a fantastic person who will remain a friend of ours and the club?s.

?His departure will not affect our ongoing recruitment processes ? and it presents us with an opportunity to review our current set-up to ensure we?re in a strong position to continue the club?s positive progress.?

Surely he will have to leave FR?
That was my next thought. Even if he does break from FR he still has all the knowledge and metrics used to highlight players, and LW will definitely be aware of just how important RM could be.

As anticlough says, it?s galling. Hopefully FR?s radar spans out in all kinds of expertise, which wouldn?t be surprising to be honest. Hell, they may even have a better person lined up already.

I laugh when he says 'The social media numpties have been banging on about (current controversial topic) so it's not worthy of comment' - then always goes on to discuss it.

What level do Notts County need to get to before we can keep people that are important, obviously we couldn't do it in non league and we don't appear to be able to do it in this league so if we're in League One next year, will that mean we can keep people we want to keep?

The statement I think makes clear his business relationship has been ended with both Notts and Football Radar

Unbelievable development for the under-pressure Luke Williams, Harley and Lawtey. Barring a relagation scrap, he's just insured himself against termination

Now he can tell the owners and the fans that only now is the full team in place to do him justice. And possibly being beholden to him in some way for the move (that interview where he laid into their recruitment), he can rely on Montague saying the same. Nice work!

I would imagine it never stops. Even if you're a Prem league team, some club higher up the pyramid will poach your best players and staff. There's nearly always a bigger boy!

if we get promotion this season then fair enough, but if we don't it should be questioned how much RM's departure in February affected that - even if they have identified a suitable long term replacement. Everything I've heard suggests RM has been very hands on at the club. If so, he will be missed.

It's easy for longtime Notts fans to catastrophize because we're used to fairly significant parts of our gardening equipment just falling off. Hope I'm reading too much into this.
