Only seen brief highlights but playing Kelly why? where's energy Hatton deserves a chance. Raggett JCH we haven't missed them cause we've had to most of the season & in the latter his case when he's played he's never been up to speed.

Contrast that to the moving cross which supplied for the odo goal. Evans is negligent to keep allowing this.

Edit. To be equally fair, you could apply the same reasoning, accurately, to many other players for different reasons.
So many players, poor at certain things which completely undermines individual and collective performance.

No wonder things are as they are.
I absolutely agree about the inconsistencies of Powell's dead ball kicks. We don't know from one dead ball to the next as to whether he will get over the first defender, whether he completely overhits it over everyone or whether he will put in a beauty of a ball. I'm not defending his inconsistencies with the dead ball, as I'm sure he's as frustrated as anyone, but yesterday he was relentless both in his tracking back and then wanting the ball to get us forward, he NEVER hides regardless and for some of our fans to give him abuse, as pocket said, is shocking. Kelly does something that not all fans see in a player of his type do. He acts as the glue in midfield. always available, calm on the ball and capable of bringing in other players, switching the direction of play as well as breaking up the oppositions play sometimes by tactical fouls.
Now we have not seen the best of this player since he joined, we know he has had personal family issues and we all wish him and his family all the best. If Kelly gets a run of games and builds on his Blackpool performance then Rotherham United will be a better team.
To be honest a midfield of kelly, powell and mcWilliams is a very very good midfield for L1. If you add to that we have the ability to bring in Gore, Sibley and Mpanzu and we have a very solid midfield.
Our defence is capable of doing well (Rafferty, James, Odoffin & Jules)
The issue has been the inconsistencies in our front line. Nombe works hard but doesn't get the goals he should, Hugill has been disinterested for 18 months (hopefully he will show his abilities), Osong was never used well by SE, Wilks (been our most consistent performer), green, I think he is looking at his summer move already and it is a real shame as this lad can play. As for JCH, it was a mistake bringing back as a team that plays so narrow will never get the best from him, he is past his best (hindsight is a wonderful thing).
So when I look at that core of 15 or so players, why are we in the bottom half?

Players like Kelly Mcdonald can't play a full game not 2 a week. That's not progressing the side need 90min more than 1 game a week players.

I can't believe no-one has mentioned Humphreys on here. He had a fantastic game last night mopping everything up at the back and always available for the ball. He also got a challenge in that stopped an almost certain goal. On another note to RU66 Hatton most probably would run around for 90 minutes but he very rarely has the ball with him

Isn't Hatton on loan though, as your previous observation?

Hatton was on the bench last night as well as another couple of youngsers.

I thought two poor sides played last night with us just shading the game but possibly a draw was a fair result. It looks like Kellys legs have gone to me but his experience gets him in the right positions but at times his lack of pace got us into trouble and a better attacking team would have punished us. We have no pace wide and little threat up top. I still think we are vulnerable to pace at the back and also without Raggett when the ball is played in for headers,

Pleased we only need around another ten to twelve points as i don't see us gettin many more.

Nobody mentioned the highlight of the evening? Evan?s stumbling off the team bus and doing a little run to make it look like he meant it tickled me immensely and put me in a good mood to enjoy a decent performance by the team
