A nice joke, but barring a truly disastrous run and a massive relegation threat, the Montague-Williams era there starts getting judged from August. As DoF, not Head of Recruitment, the last thing RM would want this year is to sack his old muckers and take the responsibility of appointing a new Head Coach

All well and good in theory, but fan power - and a growing threat of relegation - could mean Williams is on the beach before the season ends.

That's close to what I said.
It's going to be interesting and that club is in for some drama - appointing a DoF from 2 leagues lower isn't exactly a move from a position of strength. Take a look at their fixtures and March is a really tough month, winnable games don't come along til April. They should buckle up.

Not sure it was close to what I was saying. You were very much leaning towards they won?t sack him and he will be judged on the first part of next season and how the Williams/ Montague partnership goes. I was very much leaning in the opposite direction (ie he won?t be given the time with the continual decline in results and fan unrest).

My immediate reaction is LW was already on borrowed time and RM's expertise, such as it is, was always to help choose the replacement rather than support LW.

Can't help feel that LW was sold short as he was here with poor recruitment after our promotion.
