We sign a left back in January, the first choice left back goes off with cramp, we then replace him withi a defensive midfielder and put the more creative midfielder to left back?..

Docherty does make some really strange in play decisions.
Not disagreeing GB but didn't McIntyre bring in a load of experienced players for a relegation battle?

Some of Docherty's substitutions really are baffling though

ETA - apologies if I've offended anyone by referring to McIntyre's signings as players

I?m not on about signing a load of players from England, I?m on about a proper premiership striker, every other club bar saints seem to have at least 3, we have one, who is knackered after 70 mins.

Signing young players especially from the other side of the world is crazy, one who can?t even get in our first 18, despite there being two centre halves on the bench and four on the park, we had one forward on the bench yesterday, 3 defenders and two defensive midfielders and a goalie, this recruitment is either on the manager or the guy sanctioning the signings.

Our squad is so unbalanced it’s frightening. Fraser’s injury has been a major blow, but not really a major surprise. Aberdeen were **** yesterday, but still managed to win fairly comfortably. My main worry is that we could easily go on a Motherwell, Aberdeen run of form, and be in real danger of relegation.

We are already in real danger of going straight down, lose against that lot from Perth then the shhhit really hits the fan,we must pick 1 keeper and stick with him and also stop the long throws and also get rid of a certain individule at the back who just isn't upto it.iv deliberately not named him,

Have we ever scored from a long throw? I can't think of any goal offhand.

We should have signed Jordan White from Ross County at the same time as we signed Simon Murray.
Last season Jordan White created the goal scoring opportunities which allowed Simon Murray to regularly score goals for Ross County.
Throughout the years there have been numerous goal scoring double acts.
    Willie Pettigrew and Bobby Graham.
    Drew Busby and Drew Jarvie
    Tommy Coyne and Keith Wright
    Greg Stewart and Kane Hemmings
    Regarding recruitment.
I think that the problem lies at the top with John Nelms not interested in ensuring that his boss Tim Keyes finances signing the best available players for Dundee Football Club to finish as far up the league as possible at the end of each season to obtain the maximum prize money.
Instead in my opinion Nelms is only interested in being paid a lavish salary for as little work as possible whilst promoting his fantasy new stadium development at Campy Nou to the Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce members.

Sadly I can see this season being a repeat of the 2018-19 season resulting in us being relegated at the end of this season.
Meanwhile Nelms will announce that the Club are charging Premier League season ticket and match day ticket prices for Championship football.

Ok we understand, you hate Nelms. And DFCSS. Have I missed anyone or anything?

I'm fairly convinced that Doc does not have full control of the signing policy.

Pineda never got near the team and the latest Mexican not even on bench.

It's more than a bit worrying if Nelmsy has his beak in the signings.

We are so short up front yet Main walks is completely baffling to me.

He's being hamstrung with these Burnley players and Mexicans, they're 100% not his choices so have to be agreements between John Nelms and those clubs.

It's a massive worry that John Nelms has anything to do with the playing side, certain of us have been saying this for a while whilst those on other forums are convinced he's the club's saviour. If we get relegated this season most will blame Docherty, and as manager he will have to take some responsibility (he might need lessons in how to do that), but for me these agreements with other clubs will be a major contributory factor, and they're John Nelms' doing not Docherty's.
