So with a scandalous upholding of the red card (supporting the referee rather than the evidence??) and confirmation that Williams has collected 10 yellows, we'll only have 2 CHs available tomorrow- O'Riordan and Billington. Even if the mysterious "1 or 2 players" are available, what a bare bones of a team we'll have. Chances are the 2 possible returnees are more midfielders so not necessarily people who can fill in the gaps ( unless one is Thomas and Bell chooses to reprise his stand-in CH role from when we didn't possess 6 of them).
Whatever, I will repeat my request that Thibaut start. The guy is an intelligent player and makes clever moves and touches that could create chances. Please do not play Tracy as a lone forward. He cannot hold (or control!) the ball in a static position. He can only cope when running on to a moving ball facing the right way and even then, most of the time, there's no end product. By all means play him- slightly wide and just off the front- that's where he most likely to do anything positive.
As for the actual match - I'm really happy that a much touted team are struggling in the middle of the table. However, I hope the travelling Alex don't give Nevitt a hard time like at the home game. He can't be begrudged a late career move that earned him some money after he'd spent much of his early career in non-league. Further, he gave his all while he was with the Alex. A lot of people found the booing distasteful for a club with such a good reputation. The other reason is that ex-players sometimes comes back to haunt their old clubs, especially when receiving stick from them witness CBR last week.
So finally (!), I expect a boring game and against the odds, we'll draw. 1-1 or more likely 0-0.
