Nothing to do with tactics then and spotting Macca would be better employed as the main striker instead of out wide like at Gateshead? Or was that the tea ladies idea?

Me too. I realise that durham and Soccerman will be celebrating his departure as much as they would celebrate our promotion, but I have nothing but positive memories of Luke Williams in his time at Notts County, he gave me one of the best and most entertaining seasons I've witnessed in my 54 years of support. Best wishes for the future Luke.

I don't really go with this notion that he was disloyal to us - he earned his chance by attracting the attention of a higher league club, and the reasons given for leaving may or may not have been a case of diplomatic language, but were not out of the ordinary. If he had said he was going because Swansea were a bigger club offering a lot more money, that wouldn't have gone down well either with some! We've since moved on, out of necessity, but I certainly don't bear LW any grudge and I wouldn't have wished this outcome for him. I'm sure another job will come along in due course though.

Did you have similar hatred for Les Bradd when he went to work for Forest?

    Totally agree.

I liked LW and was disappointed when he left. Much like players being identified I think it is clear that we target coaches that will become saleable assets who are very much on the up so it comes with the territory that they along with the players will hopefully develop their own careers by developing Notts. The journey man manager like a Sheridan is no longer on our radar so if all goes to plan the scenario of LW going to Swansea and IB to Forest Green will continue to be reoccurring as much as it is for the likes of RR to Oxford and ML to Millwall.
If we were to get beat in the play off final this season and a team like Charlton come in for Maynard and offer a fair price I highly suspect he would be gone too and another up and coming coach would be employed.
