We have a lot of players; probably too many. This stops a headache for TM.
Think you're right about the latter Matt. With the loans of Armstrong and Lankshear, and with Dike looking like he is now coming back, our forward line isn't looking too bad and we should have enough options for TM to chose from.

I get that, from a tactical point of view, we may want to field particular players to better suit the opposition on the day, but I also have sympathy for those who feel that we chop and change far too much which means we either lose momentum in a game or else players sometimes don't seem to gel . In the Blackburn game, for example, we never seemed to get a rhythm going and the team looked quite disjointed. You have to wonder whether less tampering would help. Having fewer players to chose from may actually work to force the issue?

We may have more quality up front than we have had in a while but we also still need to work out how to get around defences when they are set up against us as Plymouth and Blackburn did. I appreciate that when teams get so many behind the ball and then put at least two players on Fellows or Johnston it makes things far more difficult but too often we seemed bereft of ideas-mind you, passing the ball about both quicker and more accurately might help!

As for Jed, I don't doubt that he is a great character to have in the squad nor do I doubt his commitment but whilst he has been much better in his more recent outings he hasn't the pace now and I honestly think that so many of our other attacking players offer more. I wish him well for his recovery but the silver lining will be that at least he can't be first name on the team sheet anymore.

Could not have articulated it any better Omegstrat.
