My alternative to Trump's deal would be a peace deal.
Certainly assist Ukraine defend their borders and isolate Russia globally.
The best option would, of course, have been the despotic leader of a banana republic not invading Ukraine in the first place.
Would you have negotiated a peace deal with Hitler in 1939 when Poland instigated a conflict?
    Appeasement worked a treat then.

I would never claim to understand how Trump's mind works, my suspicion is that he did not go pardon mad at the end of his tenure because he genuinely believed he would still be president by some means on 7th Januray 2021.

Let?s talk about appeasement 2014 Putin invades Crimea Western Europe does nothing as does Obama and Joe Biden. 2022 Putin now invades Ukraine and again Western Europe and Joe Biden do nothing. Don?t forgot the UK allowed Putin to order two hits using CBRN material on mainland UK which also killed UK citizens and again nothing was done about it. But now because it?s Trump it?s appeasement.
Again if Western Europe want war what is stopping them from going to war.
The world has changed since 1939 action was taken at the time not years later

One of the biggest problems is that Europe contains some of the richest countries in history but they are all incapable of defending themselves without American help. It is easy to understand why the Yanks would be annoyed about that.

They didn't allow it but it is part of the reason all this is going on in Ukraine now, it's hybrid warfare. Welcome to 2025.

They don't want war but it may still come to that with talk of troops on the ground on Ukranian soil. Too little too late, maybe.

Oh, there's no doubt Europe/NATO have been asleep at the wheel when it comes to Putin's sojourns.
NATO, I think, felt when the USSR fragmented that their work was done.

We're at where we're at now and I don't think a two wrongs make a right approach is helpful.

You'll have to enlighten me on the UK sanctioned attacks, I try to avoid conspiracy theory stuff.

NATO probably isn't an edgy enough concept for you I suppose.

Biden knew the Russians were massing on the border and going to invade. If you he?d wanted to he could have stopped Russia. He allowed them to walk in like Obama did.

So what did the UK do in regards to the 2 incidents again nothing.

The Western Europeans are never going to put troops into Ukraine without knowing the US will back them.

You keep going on about the West letting Russia invade. You gloss over the fact it's been going on years and Putin has very little to show for it. That is down to the help UK and other allies have provided. Like I said, it's the age of hybrid warfare.

Three cheers for the UK and its allies allowing Russia to take bits of Ukraine and killing their citizens with CBRN materials.
