Conor Grant really is going to have to start showing something. I know he came to us as the makeweight in the Crowley deal, but at the moment I'm not seeing what he adds. We might as well have left an empty squad space or given one of the young prospects like Reynolds or Sanderson a chance. There must be more to Grant than we've seen so far, because he was Young Player of the Year in his early days at MK Dons having been bought for a fee, but right now the guy just looks lost.

He doesn't look interested most of the time, which is the most concerning thing.

In his last interview he said SM is speaking to him about his output.

Anonymous performances without end product in L2 will only lead to one place - National League. IMO he needs to play angry

For someone who’s played plenty of games in L1, Grant hasn’t exactly stood out at this level. In 20 games, he’s contributed one assist and two goals - for an attacking midfielder, that’s nowhere near good enough. He was the makeweight in the Nemane deal, BTW.

I couldn't agree more. I was just saying before the game on Saturday that I don't know what he's for - I struggle to work out exactly what position he is playing or what he is trying to achieve. He doesn't do much wrong during a game but that's probably because he doesn't do anything at all, he just appears to be a passenger. But then other people tells me he does great things, so I thought maybe it's just me and it's good to find I'm not alone in my opinion.

He actually came to Notts as part of the Nemane deal, but at the time the club said that we had been trailing him for quite some time and that his availability was what convinced us to let Nemane go. So clearly they see something in him: I can't wait to be convinced myself.

The lad doesn't have the best attitude

That's a bit concerning - at just turned 22 he might still have a bit of growing up to do, but as a generalisation if you're hard work now you're probably always going to be.
It's still early days, but could be a test of the club's man management (I know some of this falls on SM but not all of it - it takes a village to raise a child etc).

Rather harsh, it's too early to judge him or any of the younger players especially on yesterday. Most of the team were well off the pace, and Jarvis was just one of them. He did get back and defend well late in the game, I'm hoping he'll learn from this.
