TV gold generally refers to those moments people watch again and again. In this instance it's already started judging by the number and frequency of repeat showings this evening.

    Are you angry about that?

Well that's put the cat amongst the pigeons given yesterday's events in the Oval Office .

The European political class putting their arms around Zelensky and telling him what a thoroughly good chap he is but haven't a clue how to offer a solution in ending the Ukraine - Russia war other than sanctions and arming the Ukrainians , how's that worked so far ? .

The truth that the European political class know too well but haven't the backbone to admit publicly is that the Ukrainians can't win and Zelensky is going to have to give up something to Putin .

Now whilst the US President is many many things , blunt , aggressive and you probably wouldn't want to leave your wife alone with him in a room for more than 20 seconds he isn't stupid either .

The only time you get to dictate the narrative in conflict is when you achieve total victory , that ain't happening .

So you either end the conflict with trade offs or thousands upon thousands more people will lose their lives and this becomes another " Forever War " of which the world has already plenty going on .

It's not a particularly palatable dish to have to eat giving Putin something I get that but what's the alternative ?

Clear your head Zelensky , do a deal with Putin which leads to a deal with Trump and those minerals you have in Ukraine building your country a better economic future .

How would we feel if/when Putin rolls onto our soil and wants to permanently park his empire on part of us? Thoughts?..

The Russians haven't the military capability to invade this country so that won't be happening .

However I can answer your question in a real time way , nobody was going to win the conflict in Northern Ireland , it would still be going on today if Blair , Clinton and the Republicans hadn't sat around the table and thrashed a solution out with some uncomfortable compromises made .

If Zelensky defeats Putin and slaughters them out of Ukraine then he gets to call the future shots regarding his country but that ain't happening .

Putin needs to save face and get something out of this war .

Zelensky is in danger of making the same mistake Yasser Arafat made in the early 90's when the Israelis and Clinton offered him the deal of a lifetime and he walked away from it , he preferred to carry on fighting a war the Palestinians can't ever win and that continues today .

Whilst the liberal class and their minions offer up Arafat and Zelensky as the righteous ones they may want to acknowledge the blood they have on their hands because they aren't smart .

    Pride before a fall .

It will if you believe the fear-mongering mainstream media.

Nice assumption, but I?m actually not one of what you describe as the liberal or political class - what it?s worth I value my independent thought so I don?t ally myself with any of the political parties on offer out there. I never want to be in a position where I feel I have to defend the indefensible

anyone seriously think there is no chance their kids or grandkids won?t be called up to be placed in harms way?
