I don?t think Warne would have this lot of players as he would have asked the recruitments teams thoughts and not demanded he brings in who he well wants and they have no say.

I agree. Was just pointing out that PW (and probably many other managers) would get more out of this rag tag ensemble.

As someone else has said, I doubt he'd have many of these here to start with, but I do think he'd have gotten far more out of them. The quality we're seeing from some of the teams we're up against is almost jarringly poor. Any manager able to either get a system which suits us, or to get the players mentally ready to walk through walls, would be 8th, 7th or above. Any who was able to do a bit of both and we'd be coasting in a play-off place.

Maybe it's rose-tinted glasses, but I don't remember so many on/off injuries under PW either - I can't convince myself that two years of that isn't somehow connected to the manager, even if other factors are at play. I'd love to get an account of what the general atmosphere is like in the changing room.

These are not the types of players that scott would have gone out and found on his own.

Known and used by evans before:
    Harris
    James
    Little henry
Holmes hardly needed sherlock to find him, found by playing his team!
    Any others?

Dawson and wilkes were hardly a difficult find.

Evans is on record as going direct to agents. Cmon wake up, smell the plot. He also, used maybe still uses his own brother!!

Evans, we are talking about someone who I can imagine would not let someone boil his own egg.

As to other managers getting more out of these players, I would say they this. Good players cannot be wrecked to this degree surely?

Mucked about i would give you. Can you imagine the dressing room?

Do you realise evans won’t stop until every player who he didn’t bring it won’t be here. Many of those he does gets discarded or not played.

All contracted players prior to coming are either being sold off, or not given contracts. All the favourites well thought of on here are disappearing.
Players who played ok under previous managers, esp the better warne ones either went or had to go due to money, yet supposedly some of these currently are costing just as much as players before!

It all doesn’t make sense other than clear the decks because the big ego wants all the glory ( slipped up on that one hasn’t he )

He is now saying he would offer 2 warne signings outstanding a contract. Since he knows TS has them earmarked for sales, it’s a good way of not seemingly taking the flak when they go.

Believe what you want. We all can grasp at straws and hope somethings won’t happen, but the evidence is there.

Managers dictate who they want or any type of player profile. Evans clearly does personally.

Amazed Kelly got a 2 year contract that's not good business at all. Of the players out of theirs this summer Mcdonald & Green can go. Obvious ones unlikely to stay who'll go.

Kelly hasn't played more than half the games in his previous four years. I'd be interested to know if he's on a performances related deal, or assumed to be brought in to assist with coaching on some level. I know we drop some clangers, but surely Kelly wasn't brought in on a standard two year deal.

As things stand, can anyone genuinely see a single player currently at the club extending their contract when it comes to an end, whenever that may be? Personally I don't think any player we might want to keep would even dream of signing a new deal with us, and the rest we'll be glad to see the back of. No matter who the manager is, we're going to have a huge turnover of players over the next couple of seasons.

Yes, I can. There are a lot of players in there who may not get flooded with offers, sit at the wrong age to take a risk, haven't picked up enough money from the game to take time out to explore their next stage. I'd imagine anyone over 30 would be happy to stay. The players in their 20s though... no chance.

But will we be wanting to keep those over 30? None of them have done anything to earn an offer of a new contract. If Evans is still here then we know he basically signs a new squad every summer, and if he goes I can't see a new manager wanting any of them either.
