I understand football has evolved a bit since I was playing centre half at primary but surely full backs on the posts with your CF on the halfway line, fixes a lot of the problems weve got?

Nobody will ever convince me in the merit of bringing Clarkson back for corners
I'm sure that the players are told to do that Shyte in the box. I doubt any player would do it willingly.

Hopefully once we have a settled back line things will start to settle at the back.

One of my favourite tactical moves was by the Barcelona team with Ronaldinho, Etoo & some other gadgie up front (I'm sure it had been done before but it was the first time I ever saw it). At defensive corners, they let all 3 o them stay up near the halfway line. Opposition team kept their whole defence back; lot less chaos in the box and seemed to me like corners were easier to deal with. I'm sure 'the data' shows that cramming the box with abody gives you a 5% better chance at defending or whatever, but that data is clearly nae applicable to our lot. So I'm completely on your side for this issue wi defending corners.

The first goal we conceded yesterday wasnt down to having everyone back to defend the corner, Mitov was at fault by letting the ball in at his near post. It wasnt as if it was a bullet header the guy headed it into the ground and it bounced over the line.

Im not a tactical expert by any stretch of the imagination but it seems a lot of the goals we concede are down to players errors.

You could leave 3 players up the pitch and have man marking instead of zonal marking at set pieces but if players make mistakes then we will still concede goals.

Then it would be the players to blame, rather than the manager.

Too many teams are just lobbing it into our box without having to worry about their end of the pitch. Jimmy has to realise that theyre sh1te too

When Allan Hale was Maroons? manager, he would leave our striker Mike Ewen on the centre spot, with his wingers on the touchline on the centre line, meaning that opponents had to leave three - sometimes four - defenders in their own half. Pioneer.

There?s a school of thought (not that I take much interest in these things) that a crowded box at a corner is more dangerous than space in the box, but I have my doubts.

And you?re still a zoomer min.

I should have known that all roads lead to Keith eventually.

Are the players and manager giving enough?
That?s us down to 4th place. It was a poor result for Aberdeen FC yesterday but I am certainly not surprised.
Thelin is another manager who struggles with team selection. I would suggest to him to stop starting with players who are offering extremely little. No point being loyal to players who would get you the sack.
    Quite right.
Six weeks or so is well long enough for a batch of new players to gel and adapt.
It's only lazy players like Johnny Hayes or Barry Nicholson who take longer than six weeks to hit the ground running.

It must be the way things are done in Aberdeen nowadays?half @rsed and lazy. The football club is the laziest in Scotland. Can?t be bothered to employ a hard working manager, can?t be bothered working on set plays, can?t be bothered employing hard working players, can?t be bothered building an indoor training pitch, can?t be bothered building a new stadium, can?t be bothered spending their own wealth to improve everything, can?t be bothered competing for the competition?s they are in, can?t be bothered serving up decent matchday food for the fans, can?t be bothered being good to the fans and most alarming of all?can?t be bothered winning matches.

Welcome to Aberdeen FC?.THE LAZIEST CLUB IN SCOTLAND
