Season tickets. There would be 50% less take up if they started taking money AFTER we know what the squad is. In evans? case, crucially so.
It is time to wake up and realise that evans has done stewart bidding. Minimise costs, (we bought no one) remove players, sell a load of bull to supporters, bring in older players short term which means no learning from before. Any notion that this squad could challenge for anything was a fairytale.
I started this thread by stating the obvious on player shifts in the summer. There isn’t a serious alternative being suggested.
Does anyone seriously think there could be wholesale changes? That would involve paying off the one year contracts, stewart isn’t going to do that.
If there was it would prove some clauses and maybe they are not getting paid nowhere near as much as they would have us believe.
Stewart said back in the champs as soon as possible, not necessarily means next season.
Without a manager capable of putting a squad together that plays together, stays reasonable fit, led well, etc. we will get nowhere fast.
Which is exactly what has happened.
It all needs reversing, it is the only way forward.
I'd stick a hundred quid up to back season ticket numbers remaining within 10% of last year's level irrespective of the division we're in, the man in the dugout, the man in the Caesar seat, and when the squad is named. Decent views are at a premium, and those with good seats will retain them just in case things improve, and ultimately the price isn't huge. We'll always have this issue of empty seats with stayaway fans when we're playing badly, but the money is in already so it's not seen as a problem.
In one sense that is correct in some ways. And not much of a brave bet since you know they won?t do it.
1. Prices are creeping up, slow but sure. And money in pockets is getting less.
2. Prior to warne you could stroll up and get any seat you wanted in stands near the south on either west or east.
Since then it may have been a continue and wait. But that will come to an end, depending.
3. Scrunch up the empty seats and you won?t be so confident.
4. Go on the club website, to book a seat early for a released fixture. Count the number of blocked seats. A huge number are staying away.
Not many are going to keep tossing away money for too much longer, the ones that have been hanging on for a ride.
5. The less than optimum seats won?t be kept on forever, they will be the first to go.
6. Like those lights, people will put up with things, and sitting in freezing weather so long as the football is good. But things are dwindling away.
The warning signs are all over the place, the club are not heeding.
We now need to start winning consistently.
One away win is not enough. We need to consolidate the last win with a convincing home win again Leyton Orient tonight.
It won't take much for us to get dragged into a relegation dogfight. We're not out of the woods just yet. Talk of bringing in another manager needs to go on the back burner for now. Upsetting the apple cart doesn't do much for team morale either.
Most of us think we know what needs to be done re players and management. Realistically there'll be no real movement through the revolving door until summer 2025.
Up The Millers!!
2-1 to the Millers tonight. Toes crossed.
I would have thought a chairman / owner with any sense, would have sold the club while the club was in
the championship, which would attract buyers.
But now the club in league one, mid-table no prospects of doing any better of the league position, no assets
in playing staff, so the value of the club is below what Tony Stewart would want for the club.
Humphreys & Odoffin -
The players agents will have already got clubs lined up for these players.
Again the hierarchy in the boardroom have failed to offer contracts at a early stage, to try &
keep the players.
Clayton no issue with multiple replies
I hope we do get contracts for Haks and Humphreys, nothing would please me more than the club actually doing good contract business, my gut tells me they won?t. I know that TS doesn?t have to tell us, but when owners start treating fans in a way that makes them look like they care about them, it never ends well, I am sure that TS is smart enough to know that sensible communication with the fans is in his and everyone?s best interest.
As for the JCH and Raggett points you raise, very good points my push back is the best ability is availability, players on big wages at a club our size are a liability if they aren?t available to play, we cannot afford to carry players like this. I think Raggett and Kelly are decent players but we have them at the wrong time and JCH we need to play wide players that cross.
Not particular looking forward to anything while T/S thinks the sunshines out of Evans, Raynors Arse.
