Thread: Leyton Orient Post Match Thoughts

  1. #41
Yesterday was my first ever game at NYS and first time watching the millers live in 18 years.

Id been in the country less than 24 hours and headed to the ground Tuesday morning to get tickets. Couldn't get tickets online. Visa card with overseas address a no no and then couldnt use mum's card as I was the registered member?
Anyway it was nice to check out the stadium and club shop during the day as well as a nostalgic trip up to Milmoor.
NYS really looks great up in person. Would never have dreamed we would ever have had something like this growing up.
Inside at match time just as impressed. The view, the bars, the toilets and even the food a massive step up from Milmoor.
But. Absolutely no atmosphere on a cold Tuesday night game.
I bought one of the only pairs of tickets left behind the goal. We sat next to one other with 4 empty seats in front and four empty to the side of us.
Stadium half empty is bad enough but everyone scattered and sat isolated just made it feel sterile, cold and boring.
Maybe that's because of the first half football on display. The game did pick up in the second half and so glad of a win.
It's a shame this season has fizzled like it has. Would live to have seen the place rocking. Hope the good times return soon.

The Millers gained the 3 points Tuesday night, which on a first half display from Leyton Orient,
the Millers were lucky to take even 1 point.
Orients right winger number 7 Agyei tormented our defence, with control & speed on the ball,
plus they used a left winger number 44 Markanday who also played well, both stretching our
    defence, in the first half.
Orients keeper Keeley puled off 2 excellent saves, I stood up & clapped one of them, at one time
fans applauded away team goalkeepers, when they did this.
When Sibley came on for the Millers, I thought he put some fire into our game, I took note Sibley
stopped on the pitch at half-time, to put the Millers subs through their paces.
I thought the substitution of Agyei & Markaanday was a big mistake by Orient, our defence were
glad to get shut of Agyei.
To the Millers play, has said Sibley put fire into the Millers in the 2nd half, I thought Sam Nombe
was man of the match, with his constant running, he should have scored a goal admitted.
Oddofin played a solid game in defence, with Philips saving a couple of Orients chances, which
kept us in the game in the first half.
Jonson Clarke-Harris had a better game, but I thought the subs should have been made earlier
    by Steve Evans.
Kayode came on & showed promise, at one time Kayode was intimidated by opposing centre-half's
9 out of 10 times, but last night he used his physique & body strength to give some grief to the
    Orient defence.
Kayode may-be trying for a new contract, had to show there is a player in him, with his contract
    ending this summer.
Plus Kayode should have gained a penalty, but the referee did not give it.
Wilkes did his job, but woefully let his team down by having his greedy head on, going for goal
instead of passing to a team mate.
But at the end of the game, the Millers had the 3 points, probably thanks to Leyton Orient making
    a mistake with their substitutions.

I must admit I don?t like being admonished by a absent fake monarch, who knows little of what goes off, swings from opinion to differing opinion.
Having said that, the queen of sheba will probably say it was tongue in cheek or irony, making a perceived point perversely.

You didn?t have to be there, the footage showed the lack of bodies.
''I like many didn?t go to sit freezing watching that rubbish''........but you still watched it .....Oh the irony.....

That was what I was trying to say there's more matches now on sky sports + that wouldn't have been on before shown on the main sky sports ch in fact in league 1 we'd hardly have be on.

ELK, i remember Markanday coming on for Blackburn( think he was from Spurs) at the NYS. We were in for him this season, but couldn't "get it over the line"

Markanday who looked to be carrying some excess weight was hardly in the game for the O's Tuesday.

Some of our fans should look at themselves. A half empty ground it's makes us look like we don't want a club. I know it's not gone to plan this season but that will make it worse. SE at least he wants to be here & he's a character. Other night was better on effort signs they were playing for the manager. Every chance him & RS will have learned from this seasons recruitment & get us better equipped for next season. I'll be renewing my season ticket as always.

Left winger Markanday number 44 was as thin as a rake, they would have to toast him to get any fat off him, have you got the wrong player.
