I think there's more than a smidge of the fabulist about Nelmsy
If the training ground goes ahead Dundee Football Club will have to pay to use it as the planning application was submitted by the Dundee FC Community Trust which is registered as a charity with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) who are based at Riverside Drive in Dundee.
Everything has to be above board with outside groups including Dundee Football Club paying to rent the training grounds at Riverside assuming that they are ever built.
In my opinion it suits Nelms to keep dragging things along as it keeps him in the public eye and he does not have to state where the funding for his new stadium development at Campy Nou is really coming from.
A 100 year mortgage on a depreciating commercial asset does not fit the bill especially as I have never heard of financial companies granting 100 year mortgages for a new commercial development.
I suppose Nelms could go ‘cap in hand’ to Soho Green to ask “Please sir came I have another ?95 million in funds to pay for my new stadium development at Campy Nou which is currently a piece of waste ground”.

Might go thru in march......I have a strong suspicion it won't even be heard in march.

The lack of update from nelms, the lack of questioning from DSA, D4L and the local press damns them all really.

All existing in this cosy "don't rock the boat " parallel universe.
Nelms is more interested in telling the members of the Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce about his new stadium development than telling the Dundee supporters who contribute towards his lavish salary what is happening regarding his PPIP application submitted to Dundee City Council planning committee nearly a year ago.
It was stated at the DSA AGM on Saturday 31st August 2024 in answer to a question that John Nelms told the DSA committee members that he (Nelms) had answered all the questions submitted to him by the DCC planners.
However it is possible that Nelms told the DSA committee members what they wanted to hear instead of them asking searching questions regarding the planning application not being heard in August 2024 by the DCC planning committee which Nelms had stated when he submitted his PPIP application.

Absolutely frightening that he gets away without making any comment,.....no pressure from D4L, no pressure from DSA, no pressure from local press.

Even those that want to move must be thoroughly ****ed off by now.

    Gasp, shock, horror another delay

Anybody that's genuinely surprised by this needs taken outside and shaken vigorously - I'm not the type to hit anyone.

But once again Nelms' inaction and lack of comment on the matter will be excused by the apologists. Honestly though, why can't they see it?

Being taken for a ride and not a peep from DSA who are too scared to comment.

Dee4Life could comment but they're still making efforts to crawl up Nelmsys behind so won't as it'll set them further back if that's even possible.

The press - they even broach the subject and they'll be banned from the weekly bull**** session so won't.

All that's left is the eyes wide open lot that post on this forum. Personally I'm happy to sit back and watch as it all falls to bits because not a single person believed me when I said, probably more than 4 years ago, that this stadium will never happen. For the record I still hope he proves me wrong.

I wonder if not having a new stadium is actually the official policy, just not publicised. We need to get the football side firing on all cylinders. That way there is a business that people can believe in and invest in.
