The Press Gazette did not define ANY of the news sources in their "top 20" as right leaning in their analysis other than the Mail group. I wish you would read the sources you put forward in full instead of, as I said earlier, cherrypicking those bits that fit your agenda

Oops! Tbf, I only referred to the published press aspects of the article and hadn’t read further. You are right in your ‘top 20’ comment but do seem obsessed with me ‘cherrypicking’. On this occasion I’d read no further than what we were originally discussing. That wasn’t ‘cherry picking’ it was just a case of having other things to do.
I’m glad further reading sees the article describe the BBC as ‘neutral’. Might not go down terribly well with some on here but it’s what others have been saying for a while.

I think politically the BBC are responsibly neutral as their remit requires, although I do find them overly WOKE - for my personal taste - perhaps to their own detriment eg the unnecessarily (disproportionately) high number of female football pundits. No problem with eg tennis or athletics where the womens competition is as good if not better viewing than men's...but it just grinds my gears

Match of the Day should show fewer Premier League highlights and more analysis, says BBC chairman Samir Shah.
The BBC has a deal to show highlights of top-flight matches until the end of the 2028-29 season, with Match of the Day broadcast on Saturday evenings and MOTD2 on Sunday evenings.
Shah told the Sunday Times, external that many fans had watched Premier League goals and action before Match of the Day is broadcast.
Shah said the show "should not be built around highlights".
He added: "It should be built around analysis and examination of the match to give viewers a deeper insight."

Hmmm, seems a bit uncalled for. I thought GP and I were having a perfectly polite and reasonable discussion but apparently you feel the need to shove your oar in. I didn’t know it was about ‘claiming victory’ either…probably says more about you than anyone else.

I guess some men just can't stomach a woman doing a job they consider to be a mans? Never mind I guess at some stage the old guard will die off and it will become unremarkable that a woman can present a show on anything as long she has the knowledge. For me, I've not actually thought that for example Alex Scott is noticeably worse as a pundit than say Roy Keene, but the maybe I don't get my panties in a bunch over nothing.

The Mail is and always has been full on Fascist, not so subtly disguised as "right" leaning, plenty of articles both historical and current to demonstrate that this is the case.

Mind you it is very funny that they bung Johnson a cool million quid for his cobblers and then have to pull an article re trump.

Professor Alexis Jay headed a SEVEN year inquiry into the grooming and raping gangs, culminating in a report, published in 2022 containing 20 odd recommendations. The whole process is said to have cost ?200M.

Form 2022 to 2024, the Conservative government did NOWT to implement a single of the report's recommendations.

Six months into a Labour government, what do we have? On Sunday Wes Streeting said on LauraK that the cabinet was looking to implement recommendations and was actively working on it. the next day, the Home Secretary announces in the House that failing to report this type of offence will become a criminal offence and should hit the Statute Books this year. Positive action that even you should appreciate.

In my humble opinion, Cons and Reform should now STFU on this and back the government in their efforts to implement the Jay Recommendations. Once implemented, those measures should be monitored and amended when and where necessary.

Yesterday, Professor Jay said Cons/Reform should stop politicising it. A further inquiry (MA - which will take God alone knows how long and how much more money) isn't necessary. What is necessary is her recommendations getting implemented. I, for one, fully agree with her.

Another humble opinion of mine is that Prof Jay knows a damned sight more about this than TTR or anybody else on here, including me.
