Player of the season race -10 games left

The promotion race will be a nail-biter, but player of the season must be unbelievably close too with just 10 games left

I would say there are still 5 players in contention. I don't think you could put a cigarette paper between the Top 3, and there is one player outside the Top 5 who could end up nicking it. I've got...

1) Abbott - I'd say he continued his upward trend from the first half of the season and just got better and better. He had an unbelievable winter - iconic all-time worldie goals, all actions displays, sheer class and still only 19!

2) Platt - the early front-runner. Nobody has contributed more over the first 36 games. The de facto captain maybe. Had a dip for a few games a while back (must've been carrying an injury) but seems to be back to his best again

3) Bedeau - unbelievably consistent, what a signing he's been. A great one-on-one defender, box defender, good on the ball. Add a few goals and assists and...well, I don't think the phone would stop ringing from L1 clubs, or even above

4) Jatta - Top scorer, played 31 league games and puts in so many 8/10 performances. I wish he could save us when the team is having an off day, but that might come

5) Bass - Immaculate goalkeeper. Played every game (until tomorrow). Our dominance of possession though means that we haven't needed him all that much.

Before his injury, I think Didzy hit the top of this list. He's played in 72% of our league games, so maybe not enough to qualify at the moment. If he shines in the run-in though....?

Feels like left field and it?s not but I?m saying Abbot, loved Grealish when he was at Notts but this lad having the responsibility of CM for me has probably eclipsed him. His early interviews said he was learning how to roll players off him because he wasn?t as strong, needed more goals and he?s gone to do both, really hope he has a fantastic career, as a 19 year now I?m pretty sure he will.

Like you say, a fag paper separates all five of them.

Platt, Bedeau and Bass have been so, so consistent in a team that has an exceptional defensive record and some games does not have a lot of defending to do.

Abbott does have the odd quiet game, but his output is generally superb. To say he is 19 and performs as he does, he has been tremendous.

I can see Abbott winning Fans Player and Platt winning Players Player.

I can't see beyond Anti Clough's 5 choices, but wouldn't count against McGoldrick coming back into contention. Point taken about him playing 72 per cent of our games but in Tuesday's match ratings I had him as MoM despite playing less than 25 per cent of the game, such was his impact. If he's in the line-up for all the remaining games and comes up with more of his special gifts he could catch many people's eyes.
I was so impressed with Abbott when he made his home debut against Tranmere in September and I don't think he has put in a sub-par performance since, as well as adding some spectacular goals to his CV. Could be wrong, but I don't think he's missed a game either, which in our injury-plagued season is another big tick in his favour.

think I'd have gone for Bass for sheer class - amid stiff competition from Abbott and McG - but if he misses the run-in it probably puts him out of contention.

As much as I rate the others, Bedeau's probably my favourite player this season. Great attitude, works his socks off, exciting and inspires the team.

Yes. I put my Top 5 in that order, but for contenders for POTS I'd say it was the Top 4 plus Didzy in with a chance. I think Bass is behind the top 4 but Didzy only lacks the number of games played. If he shines in the run in and plays in every game he could snatch it and his is the best narrative IMO.

I can?t disagree with the names mentioned but I?d like to add Sam Austin to the list. He?s never been the most talented, even in the NL, but he became a main stay in the team this season before his injury and who was the last Notts player to give as much as he does in every game?

Great attitude, great engine, and has improved a lot this season. Sometimes you have to recognise sheer hard work?.he gets my vote this year!

Bedeau currently gets it for me.
Gives everything in every game, rarely has given less than a 7/10 performance and has played multiple positions.
