Difficult to really comment when I only listened to the match rather than watched it but TM's obvious frustrations matched those of AJ. Aside from a woefully poor shots to shots on target ratio, seems we still don't get enough balls into the box, still choose a pass when there is a shooting opportunity and still resort to some tippy happy football in midfield rather than getting people running forward and pumping the ball up to them. Still need to be faster on the ball.

The above all said, we are at least more attack minded now and whilst the number of enforced changes yesterday led to us taking too long to settle, we did create enough chances to win the game which is why it feels like 2 points dropped.

Its clear that we miss Maja as a target man and that Armstrong -even accepting poor service levels-has been underwhelming in the role but we have also always managed to get goals from elsewhere other than a C.F. and continue to create those opportunities. The problem is the finishing. Of course a proportion of shots at goal will always be speculative but having only 3 out of 16 on target is simply not good enough. This is what we need to urgently improve on.

Were still waiting for the attacking Tony Mowbray style I think Omeg. Apart from the Portsmouth game not much has changed.

Think so too Boingy. Didn't help yesterday missing both Furlong and Styles who frequently help instigate attacking moves with Fellows and Johnston respectively but too often we relapse into the more defensive style we played under Corberan.

TM would be the first to credit Carlos with how defensively well drilled we are generally and that has enabled us to see out games under pressure but the frustration of players not buying enough into his more attack minded tactics is beginning to show.

Styles has been great for us hasnt he? I hear hes not a proper full back but that tackle in the box was world class. Timing, commitment and strength. I love the way he controls the ball too. There wont be another player in this division as good on the ball as him as a full back. Hes got midfielder written all over him. We are getting some really good players in and not by spending huge amounts of money. Credit to the club. Im sure Mowbrays style will click in, if not this season, next. As long as we keep Corberans well drilled back line we should still hopefully get over the top six line this season. If not It wont be a catastrophe. We can just look forward to next season in a proper league.
