Really surprised that people aren’t talking about how weak the midfield was in the second half. We all saw Platt have a bad game. Too many hoofs and silly mistakes.
But, imo, we lost the game in the midfield (again) No doubting Abbotts skill, but with Palmer as a partner, it doesn’t work. Palmer is a shell of the player he was before the injury, and we’re well past the ‘let him get up to speed’ period now. Set pieces are rubbish from him and he has no bite or tackle.

Unfortunately, I can’t see him being dropped and teams will continue to pass straight through us or over us like they did today.

The game today was typical us. Half the fans saw a good performance and the other half saw a good first half, but no goals, then the typical walking football, passing for no reason rubbish, that we’ve slipped badly back towards in the second half.

Players at fault today? Yes. Maynard take some of the blame? Definitely. What are they training for if they can’t organise a game plan for more than half an hour? Normally it’s us slow start, conceded, and then we wake up. Today we went for it immediately and the patterns of play as they call them, looked good, but no end result equals a stronger (physically) passing through the midfield and scoring when the opps arise.
