Not enough urgency, not enough desire to win, not enough intent.
We all know our owners are heavily invested in stats, data, performance metrics etc, and all of that on a screen will most likely suggest that we should have more points than we've got. I'm a bit concerned that will lead them to believe that what we are doing is right, so carry on and it will work eventually.

I'm not sure it will, it's gone on too long and something is missing.

The fact that there's only 9 games left and no one has reached 70 points yet shows how poor this league is and shows how poor all the teams are including us. I can't see whoever gets promoted surviving in League 1 next season.

Long time lurker here but can?t stay silent no more?

The theme is the same game after game, don?t you guys remember end of last season? Teams adapted to us big time and we lost every single game it felt like. If it was not for 3 wins out of last 5 we bottom of the league last 15 games after being as high as 5th. Who was the manager last 15 games? SM?

Now how did we get to 5th place? We played brilliant football under Williams in a much much stronger league two. Now I was super critical of Williams when it came to corners, but now I understand him. We are bloody **** at taking corners so was better to short passes instead of even trying to do a proper corner.

So how do we compare to last 15 games last season? These 6 games we played we got 2 wins, 1 draw and 3 loses (against none top teams). I saw the Crewe game today, we in big trouble if we lose that one and they are playing good.

    Oh well on to Crewe.

What it really shows is that there are no stand out teams. Which is unusual. Whilst I don't think the quality of the division is anything near as good as it was the previous season and given Stockport and Wrexham stand a chance of championship football in the 25/26 season that tells you a lot. It's not that poor but its definitely unusual.

It?s dreadful. I genuinely dont think Notts have played well for a full ninety minutes in the entire season and were like two points off automatic promotion still.

Looking at it from a different angle the reason no one has reached 70 points is that it might be a very competitive league where there is not a lot between quite a few teams. And whoever gets promoted might not be starting division 1 with the same players that got them promoted. So you don't know if they would survive or not.

Sure. But we haven't been higher than this "crap" league for a decade now. We're as high right now as we've ever been in the last ten years. I can't look at L2 and say "it's crap, we don't belong here" because a few seasons ago WE were so bad we belonged in the league below!

I think under the brothers our "natural" position in the league is somewhere in L1, and maybe higher. But before them? We were a mess. The fact that even with the injury nightmares we've had this season, we're still in a playoff position after a bad run of form tells me they're doing almost everything right. We're still above my (and I think most people on here's) start-of-season expectations.

I like out owners, they have bought us back from oblivion but that is a far as it goes. We will, maybe, get into division one at some stage of their tenure or maybe not and that is the dilemma that NCFC has got.Are we happy to be a repetative league 2 club?, maybe a few threats at getting in the auto's or play off's on the odd occasion, flirt with relegation maybe on other seasons.

Trouble is our owners are not at all dynamic,no swaz no humour, we will be forever grateful to them but maybe they have reached their limitations, not unlike some managers that exist just to get a certain amount out of a team then that is it, mad dog Martin example.
Like many others i now feel, respectfully, that the crowds will drop, certain players that we once would have attracted will no longer find us appealing, it is just dreary same old week in week out, these injuries are another matter but it begs a question.

I agree I think they?ll have a lot clearer view on how SM is doing than most of us. There is something missing, I think we?re a bit too nice, obviously not very ruthless at the moment and you can argue a bit conservative at times but that may be skewed seeing games after LWs era.
