*But shortly after Washington's announcement, the Kremlin said the Black Sea ceasefire would not take effect until sanctions were lifted from Russian banks, producers and exporters involved in the international food and fertiliser trades.*

The Black Sea is of course an area where Ukraine has had success with drone strikes on Russian shipping. What exactly is Russia giving up for the lifting of those sanctions?

Trumps top men no doubt let Putin know of their negotiating position on a social media chat group.

Trump boldly said he would "stop the war in 24 hours" if he was elected.

Instead he's looking weaker by the day, Putin has him hanging by his bollox.

    Basically this.

How can you have a ceasefire between two belligerents in one sector but not others. And if you do, ask who benefits? In this case Russia (shocking, I know). The black sea has been a disaster zone for them throughout the war. This whole thing still looks like a farce to me, one that benefits Putin and nobody else.

Were you hoping the west would renege on their end of the deal and once Ukrainian shipping resumes they would all declare, ha ha Russia the joke is on you?
