Looks like T/S fecked up big time this season.
Tony Stewart looks like changing his Cuban cigars to Hamlet after the money losses.
Certainly food for thought but autocracies aren't renowned for devolving executive authority so re-creating a Director of Football role is unlikely to be high on the list of priorities.
Also you can't help but wonder if SE insisted on a free reign before he agreed to come back which would have inevitably meant the end of the DoF appointment.
.......we have been taken back years this season with this appointment. It could take god knows how long to get the good times back.....
............first sign will be the season ticket sale in the summer.....................
I agree with that assessment, SE is all about him and his enormous ego. In my opinion, the idea for him of having people between him and TS and others setting recruitment strategy isn't something he can accept. If I recall the reason they state that he left the first time was related to disagreement about how the club goes forward regarding players etc.
At the moment it looks to me as if SE has too much influence and the outcome is failure, in regards to targets that he himself set. NEVER OUT OF THE BOTTOM HALF ALL SEASON
I think that Taylor was the catalyst. Whilst ever Warne was getting a bit more year on year he was happy to a certain level. He saw mass improvements to the training facility during his time and was himself the the force behind the progress to what could be the detriment to his playing staff. The Ward money for example went on the new block at the training ground.
At the side of that other managers after Warne have moaned like hell about the facility because they saw it for what it was.
Taylor sold TS the dream and in the first season he managed to keep us up.
SE has continued to spend big on wages in the hope of promotion.
The value of the squad has reduced by every transfer window but the age has gone up.
All of the young players will be out of contract soon. The family diver has gone.
In one year we will be completely in the **** if the summer recruitment isn?t good.
ST has been sold down the river and should have been better advised. If he was then you are completely correct.
Advertiser says that without Stewart's money we'd be in the bottom half of League One, imagine that.
That is why i think SE has failed this season, he has also left us with few assets and after listening to the Gareth Evans interview I can't imagine he is well liked by his staff, but you never know the players might like being treated that way.
After the last game he should be let go and the club should have a replacement lined up and Rob Scott should be told to have a full portfolio of the squad ready including his recommendations on the retain list and contract offers.
This club doesn't need SE, in my view
