I doubt very much that when/if JJ comes back he will be any more productive than he was when he came back before. He certainly won't be the magic wand people are hoping for (IMO of course).

I was interested to see how we did in the games where Jones featured in his initial return from the shin fracture
He came on against Bromley at home and scored a penalty in a 1 - 1 draw
He started the next three games, all wins against Carlisle, Gillingham and Morecambe but went off early in the last of those
If I remember correctly he was being targeted for rough treatment in all those games too
I guess we'd take a similar return when he comes back in

For me we are definitely more likely to miss out on the playoffs than finish in the automatic places. A month ago that wasn?t the case. Quite the opposite in fact.

Saying that I believe the most likely outcome is still a playoff finish even when in such poor form.

Unfortunately, the way we are playing at the moment means that there is a distinct possibility we will finish below the playoffs.
But still there's hope. If we can just pick up a few points in the run-in, then the awfulness of our rivals might just about see us sneak in.
And then... well, strange things happen in playoffs.

Worrying thing though he wasn?t fully fit, may have done 90 against morecombe had he not got injured. I think we?ll be lucky to have him fully fit for the last 2 or 3 games, still not in contact training.

I would forget all about him. Why risk further injuries when there is no chance JJ is going to be fully match fit with only a matter of weeks of the season left. We may aswell get him fully fit for next season..

I guess the only positive out of all this is that whether we go up or not there will be little to no interest from clubs wanting to sign him in the summer.

I?m not that hopeful in league games but he could we be fully match fit if we end up playing offs, they must be at least 6 or 7 weeks away.

With MK, Colchester, Salford and Bradford coming up next, I'd say the Newport game is the last chance saloon for any auto-hopes. Get onto 65pts asap and build some confidence and spark a run.
It should be treated as a must win and any talk about the performance if we get 1pt or less would be completely hollow now.

I'm in agreement with this. With one win in the last six games it means we've got to beat Newport if we want to keep in the mix for automatic promotion places and it's realistically only 3rd place up for grabs with us trailing Walsall and Bradford by 8 and 7 points respectively.

Also a win will see us keep that 3 and 4 point gap between us and Grimsby, Colchester and Crewe. The last thing we want is those three closing that gap and then us having to battle with them for the lower two play-off places.

At the minute we are in the mix for 3rd place with Doncaster, Port Vale and Wimbledon and that's the one we want to be staying in. Plus we have a +7 goal difference on Port Vale and Doncaster and that could be worth an extra point at the end of the season.
