Thread: Blackpool Post Match Thoughts

Feels good to be a Miller, which hasn`t happened often this season.
First half was very good, second half we were hanging on,a smash and grab really,a draw would have been fair, but who cares about fair !
Kelly looks a player now,can see why Evans signed him,Mpanzu doesn`t contribute enough, the rest did well.
Very happy for Hamshaw and anyone else who cares about the club, please offer Haks a contract, you never know he might sign it now.

As previous comments said Mpanzu was poor in the second half today, losing the ball far too easily. Much better performance from the rest though. I was looking forward to going today for the first time in weeks, the response from the players is significant and proves that they wanted Evans out as much as we did.
Very good first half but we sat back too much in the second and ended up under the cosh.
Dawson's kicking is atrocious and I wish Haks wouldn't put himself under so much presuure.
Overall very happy bunny tonight and my beer will taste wonderful

Sibley's best performance so far. Definite MoM for me.

Pelly was the weak link, sadly. He really should have buried that volley. All he had to do was to keep it down but he never got over the ball.

Still, tremendous result against - on paper at least - a better side than us.

Onwards and upwards. I feel we should get better as the season progresses, assuming we don't run out of fit players!

Great result, Blackpool are a decent side. Hamshaw getting some good performances from the lads. It's a very positive start and all we can ask for at this stage

Good win against a decent side, to be honest when they equalised I thought they would go on to win it.What took T/S so long to get rid of the two dinosaurs it was obvious for a while the player?s were not happy.

Very happy with first half, second was frustrating as we defaulted to sitting back on a slender lead.

Keeper not up to it. Gives me no confidence at all, and haven't seen signs he's going to become a keeper we'll rely on longer term. Defence pretty solid, closing down around the box far more effectively than in recent months, and lots of effort getting further forward when they could. Kelly was brilliant before we went in front then dipped a bit, Powell excellent throughout, Sibley grew into the game and was our best player later on. Mpanzu was disappointing, saw enough of the ball but just looks chaotic, and off the pace. Decent efforts from the forwards, and a shame we only led by a goal at the break despite their work.

Chuffed we got there despite their diving and dark arts - and eventually showing a bit of football - and all in all, zero complaints. Starting to feel a bit like (and only whispering this for now) we're getting our club back.

The shackles are off and the team is playing with freedom and confidence. First half particularly, there were no meaningless balls chipped forward giving Nombe or Wilkes no chance. Rather, we saw some excellent build up play from midfield directed by Powell and Kelly.

Second half saw an understandable response from Blackpool and I was concerned that after the penalty, they would go on to win. But this is a group of players with a rejuvenated pride in the club and we carved out a great win.

Not sure if the last two results show how good Hamshaw is or how bad Evans was. Suspect a bit of both. Whatever, it was great to see smiles around the stands and people staying back to give the players a deserved reception at the end.

Nice to see some good hard tackling from Sibley and so unlucky not to score.

Arguably the best we've played this season, first half was excellent and should have been in front by more at half time. I expected a response from Blackpool 2nd half and we got one, but unlike previous games when other teams have dominated , we always looked a threat on the break, and the penalty for them was correct. Nice to get a winner, even though I thought a draw would have been fair, and although MH has done really well as interim manager, I would like to see him alongside an experienced ex manager so he can learn his trade.
