Well TS promises a 'competitive' budget. What that means after the way the Mars Bar muncher has slewed us down the toilet, remains to be seen.
    Let's face it.
    We ain't got much.
    We need a lot.
    And for very little.
I do believe we don't have the best man who could potentially deliver this.
    WE HAVE THE ONLY MAN

I would like to congratulate both sides for good game,we need a target man,a no nonsense centre half & a midfield dynamo with an old head.Powell could not lace Pringles boots, two good positions from free kicks & he wasted both.I think Matt will have seen this.

Entertaining match and it's not been often this season that we've had a two goal led to defend - so credit to the team for getting to that point against a well drilled Mansfield side who need points for safety.

We seemed to sag after the Stags brought on their subs and we only made one change (plus Phillips for Dawson, of course which wasn't tactical.)

For me we lost the game because Phillips made absolutely no attempt to save the shot for the third goal. I think Dawson would have saved it - Viktor certainly would. Phillips was close enough to Bowery to attempt a block with his body but just seemed to stand there and watch the ball go in. Very weak.

I said a few times that Flint will come on and play up front and cause havoc, which he did.

I couldn't see but they're were calls for offside on the 2nd goal, Dillon was slow reacting for the 3rd. Will we have a sub goalie now Cam is probably out for the season?

No point feeling down about today, most of the players wont be here in the summer. Wilks showed what he can do but also showed why he's playing in L1 after having lots of clubs. Just pass it pal..........

Strange game. We scored three tremendous goals yet had no backbone to defend, sitting back, inviting them on with inevitable consequences. In the end we were lucky not to lose. Just not acceptable.
On a positive note, Wilks was unplayable. He scored a tremendous opener, made the second through sheer effort, then scored his sublime individual second with our goal of the season, better even than the one he got against Peterborough. He'd have got his hat trick if their clown had not half strangled him. Hope to see you next year Malik Nombe is now developing into a tremendous asset and his effort was outstanding.
But tactically....terrible first 20 and last 20 minutes. Timid, negative, showing too much respect. We NEVER want to see this at home Mr Hamshaw. I know about the injuries and the lack of subs but take heed

No matter how the game changes you need a spine. GK, CD, CDM, AM and Target man. We have none of these

We have none of these because they cost money.
The 3 goals we conceded were 💩, but I don't think as bad as there's. Wilkes far too easily dancing through.

    Not convinced JH at wingback.

    Spend money on a spine.

Refereeing team had a mare. Mansfield 2nd goal offside, game should have stopped before the 6 yard scramble and Dawson's (hoping not) horror injury.

The call on 90 Wilkes pulled down by DF was last man end of, DF should have walked and no excuse from referee who got 2 game changing calls wrong, simple as that

It?s all been said about our frailties but for me today I saw some really good link play and all played on the floor!

The tight knit interplay one touch passing was great to see and bodes well for the future if that is going to be Matts style.

We?re safe with 3 to go then the serious building starts again. 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat, since taking over?.. not bad at all that Matt.

Entertaining game , hasn?t taken long for some posters whining . We are down to the bare bones in terms players, you only had to look who was on the bench . Their subs made the difference. It?s next season that counts.

    Well said.
    That's it in a nutshell.

For next season we need the right formation. 4-4-2 isn't. To play 2 up front it's either 3-5-2 then it's with wing backs which we haven't got & needs players specialised in those positions or 4-3-3 more easy to adapt to. Going to major rebuild whatever.
