I don?t think as a home support that we are overly vocal? some think that having 10k rock up should be enough for the players. There are games when the home support is flat - and the performance follows. The expectation of some is that the players should change that? I disagree.
We will all be here for as long as we breathe? we have that emotional attachment to the club that 99% of players won?t have, regardless Of what players say. We are the ones that will continue to support through thick and thin? apart from the financial input, I feel we have a responsibility to help push the players, the club and management with our unwavering support? somewhere over the last 20 years that?s been lost? it?s not just at Notts, we see it everywhere.
I?ve just watched Grant McCanns interview (from yesterday) and he banged on about telling the players to not listen to the noise? believe in what I?m asking you to do. Don?t listen to those who say you?re not good enough etc?.

Not that it?s a popular opinion but I do feel as a support we have a responsibility for making ML a great place for our team to play, and I don?t think that?s happened this season.

Hard agree on that. If we want to see what passionate home support looks like, unfortunately we only need to look at our neighbours across the river. They?ve turned the Temple of Sin into a tough place for the opposition through their constant backing of the team.

I?d love Meadow Lane to be rocking for 90 minutes on Saturday, but those days are very rare. I?ll be doing my bit in the Pavis Stand, even if it does annoy the folks around me.

I'd say it's the other way around. The support is invariably good to start with, but when mainly all we see is backward and sideways passing in our own half that passion soon fades.

Absolutely this.
We don't compare as a home support to those across the river.
It's in us for sure, if we could harvest the animosity directed at Dan Crowley and MK Dons and turn that energy into vocal support every other week I'm convinced we would get some extra points each season.

The away support is consistently good, more of us need to get vocal and keep it positive, whatever the circumstances. COYP

My thoughts were and still are, we needed to hang on in the play off spots giving time for JJ to get match fit. I believe that JJ is about coming into form so we are better equipped now than we have been all season...a fully fit JJ is the difference weve needed all season to lift us above mediocrity.If we excel then Maynard keeps his job , no questions asked.Surely even the haters can't hate if he gets us promotion!!!...but they will....!x

Hating Maynard seems to be getting confused with not having confidence in Maynard.

I don't think any Notts fan truly "hates Maynard" I'd actually find that a bit sad as he's clearly a nice likeable bloke, certainly when you compare him to some of the numptys like Mills, Fullarton and Kewell.

I have always found this a really interesting argument - do the crowd get the players going? Or do the players get the crowd going? (In response to the initial comments - I do think ML can be quiet at times).

I 10000000% understand and agree that a loud, consistent and positive crowd is of great support for the players but I am firmly of the opinion that it is not the fans responsibility to get the team going, or make them put a performance in.

A professional football team should be doing this week in, week out without the influence from fans. That professional pride, drive, motivation and everything else should be there whether ML is rocking, silent or empty.

Notts at home have not hit the heights we expect, but I do not think for a second the players are not filled with pride, passion, desire, professionalism etc etc we all demand.

The fans obviously help when they are loud, but it is not our responsibility to make them perform. Again, I understand the emotional attachment we have with Notts and to an extent agree that football is not like the majority of transactional entertainment industries, but simply put:

Should people paying to watch people being paid to do their job be responsible for their output? No. Certainly not responsible.

I don't get to as many games as I'd like to, but I left the Harrogate game wondering whether us fans (including myself) have been too harsh on Maynard. We're guaranteed playoffs, despite our awful injury record. We've progressed since last season, and this will be our best finish since 2017/18. I know the home form is not good enough, and that's important, but I are we demanding too much of Maynard and the club? This is only our second season back in the league.

I'm also not sure the bros will want a change of coach, because of the reasons I mentioned above. It would be pretty unusual to sack a coach after a playoff campaign, unless you have by far the biggest budget in the league and expect nothing less than automatic promotion.

I'm torn. We need to be better at home, and we need to give fans more reasons to get excited. Plus I'm not sure Maynard is a genuine leader or winner. But still, getting rid after what has been a decent season overall is a difficult decision. You have to be certain that whoever you are bringing in will do better.

I can't see the Brothers sacking Maynard whether we get promotion of not. They will see it as a steady forward progression on last season and I would be very surprised if he isn't in charge come August.
